[livejournal.com profile] howeird, [livejournal.com profile] mindyklasky, [livejournal.com profile] fauxkloreand [livejournal.com profile] opakele THANK YOU!!

I did not believe. But, you made me try. I could not believe that a ball winder and swift would be any easier - especially not $50 easier - than just winding by hand. Amazon is not getting these back. No way.

SOOOO wrong. Including the time it took me to unbox and figure out how to set up and how to operate, it was WAY faster and WAY easier. Easy, peasy, extra squeezy. Wow.

I get it now. And, thank you.

But, I'm going to finish this teddy bear before I do anything else.

I just looked up a video on how they work, and it seemed to work well for little fancy skeins. Would it work for something as low-rent as Red Heart jumbo skeins? I know of no way they can be untwisted into that big circle because they’re wound differently.

I do lots of afghans and use Red Heart. I do center pull from a Red Heart skein. It can be a challenge, because the skeins are wound differently, but it is doable. Once I get the center pull working, I do wind the skein on the winder. It is some work, but I find it worth the effort.
