This Twitter summary made my week! The tweet/link for the Chromebook shortcuts is amazing. I got my Pixelbook 2 weeks ago, and not only is it my first Chromebook, it's my first laptop. Going from PC only, to this has been a huge but fun learning experience. That link gave me so much great info! It's bookmarked, and ctrl-alt-? is my new best friend. Thanks!

Now if there was only a better/faster way to fix things spellcheck catches, instead of just backspacebackspacebackspace retype I'd be in heaven!

The Pixelbook is honestly the nicest computer I've ever owned and I feel like I've owned a whole lotta them!

Spellcheck fixes... can't you hover over the word, and right mouse click (tap with two fingers or hold down alt and tap), pick the right spelling and have it change? No backspace needed. OR am I miss understanding your question?

My favorite tip in that article was changing the default download folder. I made a folder on my Google Drive my new download folder and now everything I save on my chormebook is available on my phone or any other computer PLUS if/when I powerwash this chromebook, I lose nothing. So cool.

Hrm, just intentionally misspelled a word and neither of those works. Or I misunderstood what you meant, which is most likely.

That tip is definitely a handy one, for the very reasons you mentioned.

When you intentionally misspelled a word did it get underlined in wavy red? What are you writing in (email? LJ? Goggle docs?)

It does underline it, and I'm replying from LJ. Like now, LJ is underlined. Holding Alt down and tapping on the word doesn't do anything. I tried 2 finger tapping on the track pad, and also nothing. Though that I may be doing wrong as track pads are a whole new experience for me as well.

Oh! first track pad. I get it. OK so, yes, your fingers aren't trained yet :)

You put your cursor on the red line and leave it there and then, using two fingers, tap the pad. It's the chromebook's version of Right Mouse Click.

I'll have to practice my tapping, so much more involved then clicking. Lol. Thanks for the help! Off to YouTube I go.

And before posting I tested it on a fake typo, and it worked! I think my error was I was tapping off to the far right side of the pad and not the center.

Heh, this was 90% typed out last night, then the grandma of the family I nanny for got there, and I ran for the door to head home.
