Nice day

Today was just a nice day. Work was good. Got several high priority things taken care of. Fixed a problem for a VP who was appropriately greatful and still managed to beat it out of there just after Free Pizza Friday Lunch.

Nails are done and looking nice. Groceries are in the house. It turned cold here today - finally. So I laid in some logs.

I know you nature guys out there will probably cringe at the thought of presto logs in my fireplace. I did two for years. But I live on the 4th floor. I got no friends in lumber. These fake logs burn very nicely, have no bugs, cause no splenters, take no kindling and are just easy. They cost out to about $1.50 for 4 hours of fireplace fire and that's ok by me. Oh and they don't leave a big mess behind.

I have no big plans for this weekend which is just the kind of weekend I like.

I'm a new LJer and discovered you through a new friend, waning_estrogen. Your life sounds fabulous to me. A good job and an independent life. I was a journalism/PR major but have settled into an administrative assistant position with some communications stuff because the job fits best with my lfestyle. Married, raising 3 kids. I rated a high Introvert on Myers-Briggs before I was married...I think I'm off the chart now...wanting more solitude which ain't gonna happen anytime soon. But I am blessed so I will accept my current role in life, and a partner who can put up with me. Anyway, wanted to say hello, and comment that I would pay good money to have a weekend with no plans and great potential for solitude. Blessings to you!

Welcome to LJ!! And thanks for the lovely note. You are right, I am so very very lucky. I do have everything. And I'm also blessed with the good sense or whatever to realize it and be grateful every day. I have built the life I want and I pretty much wallow in it. And I love weekends with nothing on agenda. So, heck, this weekend... I'll enjoy it enough for both of us!
