A dog sat in this lap

Zoey just climbed into my lap and I told her that not an hour before, a dog had sat there. This dog.



He was too sweet and about the same size as Zoey. I really wanted to dognap him.

He belongs to the guy who cut my hair. Yes, I got my hair cut without whining about it for two weeks first. Amazing. Plus the guy who cut it said maybe 3 words for the entire hair cut. His name is Peter and while I've had way more attractive haircuts, I'm probably going back to him because his dog is wonderful and he did not make me chit chat.

Yesterday I bought a Garmin VivoActive. It's three year old tech but, honestly, there's nothing else out there that does what I want. And the price is down enough that I just went ahead and bought it. It's big but not heavy. The band is horrible but I have new one coming tomorrow. It does a lot of things I don't care about BUT... all I have to do is look at my wrist to know what time it is and how my day is going exercise-wise. And has some other nice features.

And, most importantly it tracks my swimming in big numbers with lots of detail. While I'm swimming, at a glance I can see how far and how long I've been at it. After I'm done, I get all kinds of data. But the main thing is being able to see the how long and how far at a glance while I'm swimming.

I tried it out this morning and perfection. I love it. But, god, this band is horrible. on the up side, the charge lasts for 2 or 3 weeks.

I got two loads of laundry done and put away yesterday, so today I really have no chores. I have a sewing project to finish but then I might just treat myself to an afternoon of non-superbowl TV and knitting.

Hahahaha! When I cut my hair short from really long the first thing my brother said was, “How come I didn’t hear about this for a year?”

Dunno. Us girls can be shocking sometimes.

So far, I'm really liking it. The ability to quickly and easily see how long and how far while still swimming is excellent. It spits out way more info than I can even use. I also like that it sets my goals. It starts off at a baseline and then adjusts as it learns more about me. So, it does not really morph swimming into steps like Misfit but it doesn't separate them like Fitbit.

Saving details off into a spreadsheet automatically is not possible but, I never look at my years of spreadsheet data anyway. You can see some of your swim history on the watch, all of it on the phone and on the web. That should be enough. Oh and it integrates with swim.com and with speedo.

Was this at Rudy's in West Seattle? The last time that I was there, there were dogs cruisin' around. Also is Peter larger and a bit flamboyant? *eyebrow* The guy who cut my hurrs was, although I can't remember his name, but he didn't talk and he had a good dog.

Yes, it was indeed Rudy's and we share the same hair cutter!! Although, yours came out way cuter. I should have asked for neon pink. Both the little dogs are his. One of them he's had for a while and the one is new. They are both adorable. And yep, flaming is how I'd describe - I figured females are so off his radar, it didn't occur to him to chat. Big time fine by me. That is my favorite Rudy's by far.

PLUS, all the other Rudy's are now too busy to take walk-ins.

Except Pioneer Square. I went there last time and then had to go to West Seattle to get what they did fixed.

Sigh. And yeah... Lot's o' stations.
