With my old trackers, I set the goal. And it was the same every day unless I changed it. I could, then, easily cheat the system but raising or lowering it when ever.

Now, I'm really this tracker's bitch. I wanted to go up the street to the food truck but I knew it would put me over the goal for the day. And it was only 1:30 so by midnight I'd be way past the goal and cause tomorrow's to be higher. hmmmm to go and screw myself tomorrow? Or stay home and risk not even getting to the goal.

The struggle is real, people.

I went. Because fried okra and hush puppies. A food truck who rarely stops in this 'hood' was here and had fried okra and hush puppies. So I had to take advantage.

This morning I put on one of my fleece tops and but pretty soon, I got cold. I needed a layer underneath. I used to have a big pile of crappy thin Walmart t-shirts that I'd wear as unseen layers. But they all went to Goodwill and she shirts in my closet are not the unseen layer type. So I found one of the knit sheets I've been stockpiling and made a nice, snug, undershirt with a wide neckline that won't peek through the collar of the top shirt and short so it won't look like my 'slip' is showing. And then I made a pattern of it. And then I made another one in case the first one is in the wash. And I still have enough of the sheet to make at least one more.

Next up, I need to fix my shoes. I filled the holes in my crocs with odd buttons but a couple of them are coming loose. I need to tie 'em down.

I need to conjure on what to add to the okra and hush puppies for dinner.

I don't think I've ever had a hush puppy.

They do sound good. Sort of like a cross between a corn muffin and a croquette, both of which I like.

Oh man... It doesn't look like they come to the Eastside much. It might almost be worth the drive into Seattle, though!

I have a love hate relationship with the tracking on my watch. Right now I meet my goals 5 days a week and usually come close on one of the other two. But I’m about to switch to a job that won’t involve standing all day and I’m worried.

Your undershirts sound amazing. I have a couple sweaters I love that have really wide necklines, and it's really annoying when I want to wear a shirt under them, but all my t-shirts have much less wide necklines, and so it ends up just looking weird... So far though, I have decided that I'm alright with looking weird, and haven't been inspired to do anything about it. I should probably just find a couple shirts I don't like very much, (there are a ton I almost never wear, so this shouldn't be a problem) and cut the necks really wide, and call it good...

Garmin's goals are a relentless upward trend. I'm happy to have made 10 days in a row the last two weeks, where the husband is on like 125 days (and exhausted from all those steps). I'm learning to prefer the apple watch's goals, which stay the same day to day.

That said, if you want the whole social experience on Garmin, my user name there is the same as here. :) (it'll just compare our steps/goal meeting things)

Garmin's a jerk! Garmin's like capitalism, which has to keep growing and then eventually can't sustain itself? It's never enough for Garmin. Garmin is ridiculously demanding. Garmin moves the goalposts!

I like the idea that I get a bit more of a challenge each day, but don't care if I don't meet it on a particular day. I have a simpler Garmin, and I seem to recall that I could set my step goals rather than let it do it for me, but don't remember how that worked.

I use a garmin watch to track my walks and runs, but I don't wear it all the time because I don't care enough to track my step count when I'm not actually exercising.
