Night?

I was sure that I was tired after yesterday. I went to bed and read my current novel until 11. And then, like I do most every night, I turned on the TV news, told the TV to turn it off after 30 mins and went to sleep. Like usual, I was asleep before the first commercial.

However, last night, I woke up every hour. Every freakin one. I prioritized the work that needs to be done this morning at hour 1. At hour 2, I remember to send the trust lady at Mom's bank a note to explain to me why she has a money manager account that is costing her $20 a month and netting her a little over $7 in interest. When I woke up at the 3rd hour, I got to thinking about my friend John and how very much I missed him and how really very annoyed at him for dying. About 3ish, I woke up remembering that I need to tell Sheri to forget about raising up the chaise to accommodate the laptop desk, it won't work. The next hour, I thought about why don't I get a couple of cheap TV folding trays to eat on while I wait for the table to get fixed? Goodwill? Target?

At 5:30 I gave up and got up. Fuck it. I can sleep later.

Now I got donuts - lots o' donuts that I gotta make.

That sounds like stress starting to keep you awake. Not good, eh? Earlier this week you said you might get a break tomorrow. Is that going to happen? I hope so!

Both those ideas seem like good plans to me. Take care of yourself first ... lotsa folks depend on you.

Oh dear. I don't know whether to feel bad for you, or to be relieved that my lying awake at night making little lists and composing letters in my head *doesn't* actually mean that I'm going insane.

Making lists on paper during the day helps, as does keeping a notepad by the bed, so when I wake up obsessed with something, I can write it down so I'll remember to deal with it in the morning.
