Much better

Last night I did not see the first commercial of the 11 p.m. news and only woke up once and that was just to pee so I didn't even have to wake all the way up. Nice. I'm rested and showered and ready for whatever.

Mom's been complaining about her phone since her shoulder got hurt. She says it slips off her ear and she can't hear. So I got her a new one. I went to a site for Senior products and paid what I thought was waaay too much money ($130) for a new phone. ('I paid' is a little misleading... I did pay but I used Mom's credit card.)

But, it's a winner. Totally. Drat the cost. She can not only hear, I can hear her much better and she says it is way easier to hold and it does not slip and everyone she talks to remarks about how much better it is. And it has big buttons and she's getting up a list now of numbers for Polly to put into speed dial.

On the other hand, she did sound like an old lady today - old and bewildered a little. Sometimes when I call she is just on top of it and sounds like she could hop in the car and run off to the grocery store if she wanted to. Sometimes, like today, she sounds like she could barely get it together to get down the hall for lunch. It's hard to know which Mom I'm going to get when I call but at least now I know I'll be able to hear which one very clearly!

A little bit in our newspaper this morning announced that all branch libraries will be open again on Sunday afternoons by the end of this month!! A few were before but not the ones close to me and not the one where I have my 'holds' sent. This is just excellent news. I love my library and I love that my town understands that.

It does not appear as if today will be a killer day. nice.

oh yeah... I have a great talent for getting up, and to the bathroom, peeing and back in bed under the covers without really even waking up. It amazes me.
