What a nice day....
Feb. 15th, 2006 05:04 pmAnd for the second night in a row, I have leisure TV time ahead!!
I watch a lot of TV. I used to try and justify it by saying that it was really only background for my chairity knitting. But that's a skein of crap. I never just sit and watch. When the TV is on, I'm knitting or computing or eating. Never just sitting and watching.
But still...
I watch a lot of TV. I don't watch the usual stuff. I never had any interest in Survivor or American Idol. Lost lost me after the first 2 weeks. And Desperate Housewives lost me after the first two commercial breaks. I've never been able to warm up to any CSI.
But give me a Law and Order of any kind and I'm there - first runs, reruns... I love 'em all. I really like In Justice. I watch Bones but it's a struggle. The writing sucks the big one and the lead character is very annoying. I like the rest of the characters, though. I record Numbers (or however they cleverly write it) and feel a little bit better about it than Bones but not much.
I was bored for the first year of Project Runway and had my finger on fastforward for most of it. But this year? I'm totally sucked in. Watching closely and it's one of the few shows that I watch nearly immediately cause if I don't, I'm going to accidentally read who got bumped or who didn't on someone's blog or journal.
My big guilty pleasure this year is Related. It's about 4 sisters and it's probably staring down the nose of cancellation but I've enjoyed it enormously. And I still love Rodney.
I watch a whole lotta HGTV. I Tivo House Hunters and What You Get For The Money and Small Spaces and I Want That and so then Tivo goes ahead and records a lot of their other stuff which I watch, too. I watch some of the DIY Network but not a whole lot.
I watch Jeopardy every single night even though Alex Trebeck is the worst person on the planet at 'breezy banter'. I watch TV news - local and national - an hour of local at 5, a half hour of national at 6 and the first 4 or so mins of the local at 11.
I watch like ER and I watch Gray's Anatomy and I watch House. I watch West Wing and Commander and Chief. And I love The Shield.
One of my favorite treats in all of the world - one I look forward to every week and wallow in every 'issue' and have for more than 25 years now is CBS Sunday Morning.
Using TiVo, I get to watch my shows when I want to and that makes the whole TV watching thing better. February sweeps used to mean better than average episodes of my favorite shows. Now it means special shows that I really don't care about and vacations for my favorites. So now I have TV time and the pickin's of my regular stuff are slim.
Again, TiVo to the rescue. I have harddrives of stuff I store for dry spells like this. It's a treat to have a good day and top it off with a night to TV and knitting...

Date: 2006-02-16 02:10 am (UTC)That is a most upsetting image given your knitting activities. :-)
We don't have cable, only the broadcast stations, so don't have the choices you do. My only comment is that I really do enjoy the CSI shows, and also the Law and Order shows.
