How did it find out???
Oct. 27th, 2002 08:49 amI think my current computer found out about the new one and is pissed. I've had strange little gremlish things happening recently.
I used Outlook Express and it checks mail on about 6 different POP servers. Twice in the past few weeks, it balks at one of them or two of them. The mail is there and the servers are accessible via the web but OE says "no". And it won't say yes again until I reboot.
Rebooting involves complicated webcam shenanigans. The three cams each need their own instance of the software. And because they are all USB and two are on a hub, the cams have to be 'turned on' in a specific order. It's a pain. I think with the new computer I'm going to get serious about rigging up some kind of server capability on a partition and hosting the webcam pics on this computer rather than ftp'ing them away.
The Dell site says that my computer is now in 'testing' which is the final stage of building. Next stage is shipping but they are still showing a ship date of Nov. 5. That's going to be one heck of a tested machine!
