A while back I picked up a six pack of tuna fish at Costco. It was a brand I never heard of but my cupboard was tuna-free and come the apocalypse I would have been fucked so I grabbed. Weird tuna is better than no tuna at all.

I finally opened a can today. Tuna, a little died celery, a little diced onion, a diced hard boiled egg, some mayo. OMG. This stuff is heaven!! So excellent.

I am now, officially, on a tuna fish binge.

I buy the flavored tuna packets when I see them on sale and had a chance to stock up recently. I think I have 15 or so packets now.

Tuna and cheese only works for me in the context of a "tuna melt," basically an open-faced toast sandwich with tuna salad and a slice of cheese melted on top of it, or a closed sandwich that begins to resemble grilled cheese. Otherwise, it seems like an odd combination.

That looks like something I would buy but they are not selling at my local store yet.  I will definitely keep an eye out for it though

Coincidentally, I made tuna fish yesterday for the first time in many months. Didn't have any pickle relish so cut up some sweet gherkins and threw in some of the juice. Mmm!

Never thought of hard boiled egg. Next time. :)

I put boiled egg in the leftovers last night, and (a) it was delish and (b) it stretched the remainder enough to make another sandwich today and (c) autocorrect changed my "delish" in (a) to "relish", which'd be pretty confusing if I didn't catch it.

Ugh, I miss Costco so much. They are building a new one an hour and a half away. I wonder if that might be worth a once a month trip...

That's exactly how I make tuna salad, which I learned from my mom. Although we have always added a little bit of mustard as well for a bit of a kick, and I enjoy adding some dill pickles to it. My mom decided she liked having sliced green olives in hers. About once a week she'd rotate between tuna salad, egg salad, and chicken salad for her lunches. I'd make up a big batch of whatever she was in the mood for, and she'd have sandwiches until it was gone and she was ready for me to make the next one.
