I just realized that I have the weekend off! No work! Holey moley. On the face, I wouldn't mind having some work but I can handled 2 days off and I know there will be stuff coming in on Monday. So I'm thinking this is cool.

I live for those words. They are a big old hamster dance in my life these days. In order to save my work, I have to run it through the check function of this application I use and if I haven't fucked it up, it the words above are my reward. It's nice.

Mom's got some kind of chest infection - just what she needs. The problem is that these days she rarely feels great and rarely feels terrible but in between the two she really does not know when she is sick. Today she had a regular doctor's appointment and apparently has some kind of chest 'thing that is going around'. She didn't know the details but the pharmacist had just brought her a very powerful antibiotic and told her that it might make her feel confused.

"So if I say something stupid, just know that this time is isn't my fault."

Poor thing, she really just can't catch a health break.

She did want me to order her up this $12 gizmo for stretching out her bad shoulder. Her Physical Therapist recommended it and gave her the URL. "I want you to order it in case I get stupid." So I went to their website and got ready to order. The website/store is in Asheville, NC and it was 4:15 their time and they said that their orders closed at 4 and Monday is a holiday. Great. But, what are you going to do. So I ordered UPS Overnight service in hopes that maybe it would get there Wednesday.

15 mins later I got a note that my order had been processed and right after that I got a UPS tracking number... it's not live yet, but I'm impressed so far.

That reminds me of when I started learning to program. The computer would start running the code and then suddenly peep very loudly and exit. You just knew there was an error at a given line but not what. We came to dread that beep. Just the relief when it all worked, amazing! So I can empathize, eveb now :)

"in case I get stupid"!!! Ha ha! I love that! A sense of humour will get you a long way.

I've been "stupid" for so long now that no one will even notice when/if dementia sets in. I swear I was born with the brain of a 90 year old, and I've just worn it out even more all these years.
