A lovely dose of Sheri
Feb. 20th, 2006 01:40 pmI had really forgotten how great it is to get a dose of Sheri. I start out with a list of stuff that is broken or somehow needs fixed - the shades, the desk drawer that won't open, the light above the fish bed... Small and big. And then in comes Sheri and they all start to get fixed...
Today she came with Jake who is a friend of John-who-built-my-shelves. Jake got right to work. We looked at the desk drawer and discussed solutions and then he fixed it. We looked at the coffee table and at the book of hinges and discussed possibilities and Sheri's going to call the hinge people and see what's possible. Jake says we need something like is on the hatch back of a car. He's right.
When the carpet people installed the carpet last year, they shoved my washer/dryer unit back in and ever since the dryer door has whacked me on the head. No more. Jake fixed that.
And we picked out blinds. The crappy mini-blinds are leaving the building and nice shades are coming in to replace them. Sheri said 'soon'. I asked 'Sheri Soon' or 'Susan Soon' and she said in the middle.
And we picked out appliances. She's going to send me links to the ones we picked out but the round up is a lovely french door fridge, a snazzy black cooktop (over a cabinet of open shelving - probably stainless steel - that will hold at least one and maybe both of my toaster ovens), a very snazzy over the cooktop microwave on steroids - bakes, browns, etc. And... my dishwasher. The cooktop/cabinet thing will take a while but the rest, she says, we can go ahead and get now. Yahoo!!!!!

Getting a glass top stove? So great, I miss mine. I wish I had not gone with gas. They are so easy to keep clean.
