I had two big items on my list - an instapot and a tv (for the bedroom). I scored both in the first 15 minutes of the sale while twitter was telling me that Amazon was broken. HMMMMM. The TV was $199 yesterday and $129 today. (In fairness, it was $159 the other day so probably will be at least that in a week or two.) The InstaPot (this one makes me feel like a cliche.) was $99 and I got it for $59. (It was $89 a couple of weeks ago very briefly.) So I feel like I did pretty well. Oh and I got $5 for buying a $25 gift card (for me).
I sewed up my swimsuit. I need to trim the seams but I can do that tonight while I watch TV.
Then I went up the street to get a sandwich and stop at the fabric store. The sandwich place took 35 minutes to make my sandwich (while I stood there and waited) and then got snippy when I asked if I was going to get it any time soon... this was at 11:20. I'm guess those who went at noon are still waiting. I'm sorry to cut them off cause they just started taking Google Pay so no cash needed! Oh well.
So when I got to the fabric shop I was not that happy a camper and the snippy little clerk who always treats me as a giant annoyance was on duty. And... she treated me as a giant annoyance. Plus they did not have the two things I needed - despite the class instructions saying that all the supplies would be available in the shop and please do buy them there. I tried. I did. But, now I was doubly annoyed.
I came home, ordered what I needed on Amazon and then wrote the shop a Please Don't Treat Me Like A Bug You Want To Stomp On email. I wasn't heavy handed but explained why I was buying my class supplies at Amazon and also explaining that about half the time I'm in there, my customer experience is not good. I got a reply from the snippy clerk that was kind of snippy. And then, not much later, I got a reply from the owner. The owner's reply was much better than Snippy Clerk's. I ended the email by saying that I was bummed but would be in high spirits by the time the class rolled around and I was looking forward to it. So I have no qualms about going. But unless I am desperate with no other choices, I will not be shopping in there when Snippy Clerk is on duty ever again.
My Insta Pot gets here tomorrow so I went to the library and downloaded some Kindle Instant Pot cookbooks. That's so handy. I need to remember to defrost some chicken tomorrow morning.
I think I'll get started on the swimsuit trimming right now and get that checked off the list. I have some Great British Baking Show to help the trimming process.

Date: 2018-07-16 11:15 pm (UTC)I'm tempted by the Instapot but I'm worried it will be used a lot at first, then be stored away to collect dust for ever after. I LOVE gadgets, so that price is calling to me. I'm just not sure how much I'd use it after the initial shininess wears off.
There's nothing else at all that is calling to me. Which is disappointing but a better thing for my bank account.

Date: 2018-07-17 11:45 pm (UTC)We usually do pancakes on the weekend around 9am, because we like to pretend to sleep in. And we just picked up a new jug of maple syrup. Plus, we always have coffee. We're basically a diner, so come over any time ;)
