Why?

We've had the same UPS guy since forever. He's very very nice. He almost always stops here about 9 a.m. Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, he comes way late in the day - like nearly after 5.

I have now cracked the code.

If I am tracking a package that the UPS website tells me is "Out for Delivery" and I really really really want this package, THAT is the day he will come after 5.

I feel so smart when I crack code.

While waiting for him not to come and on hold for a conference call which had been secretly canceled, I added the latest puzzles to my puzzle page. I love that my LJ friends are so generous with their puzzlicous photos... Thank you, thank you gissa, androkles, ruralrob and victory_rose!

I have a stash of blank UPS signature-release post-its that I pre-sign when tracking says "out for delivery" - but on those days, I usually hunt the truck down before he gets here. Unlike lucky you, I am never home when I get a package.

Our condo has a package cupboard with a combo lock. And the delivery guys have keys to the building. UPS and USPS leave everything there without fail or whining. FedEx does it about 75% of the time. Airborne about 20% of the time and DHL usually just leaves stuff in the hallway at my door.

Wow! Sounds like a convenient and foolproof system to me. I always try to use ups. I despise the rest, but sometimes shippers are wont to use Fedex (grrr) anyway.
