7. The Good Doctor - ABC - Season 2, Episode 1 - Another medical show, so here I am. This one is massively flawed and strangely compelling at the same time. So here, I'll stay.

8. Murphy Brown - CBS - Season ? Episode 1 - I was very nervous about this. I was sure they were going to fuck it up or one of the old favorites would be too old to do it right. I was wrong. I still think it won't last because the audience (old liberal women) is too small, dying and/or gave up on TV. But it was good. Just the right touch. All of it.

I watched A Million Little Things and enjoyed it immensely! The plot is complex, and deep, and it touched me. I thought it was very well written and the acting was first rate. It has the quality of a movie squeezed into an engaging one-hour TV show. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I remember Murphy Brown being one of my mom's favorite shows, which means of course we all sat down to watch it as a fam. At the time I was too young to really understand all the ways it spoke to her, but now I totally get why a show about an independent career woman and (later) single mother appealed. One episode that has always stuck in my mind for some reason is the one where she cut her hair.

I think you're right the relaunch won't last long, though. I suspect she isn't really relevant to the younger audience whose dollars the advertisers covet. Even one of my late-40s friends doesn't particularly remember it - it seems it was already considered an old lady show back in the 90s.
