My innards have settled down and are now on good behavior. My gout is disappearing. I slept really well last night but did have dreams that were a mash up of all the disasters in the TV shows I watched last week.

The pool was full of weekenders this morning. It's fine if all you want to do is walk up and down the lane. I have no problem with that but forgodsake do it in the lane with the other person walking up and down. No need for each of you to prevent a swimmer from being able to swim.

It will be nice to get back to my weekday morning crew tomorrow.

I will admit to being a sufferer of GrassIsAlwaysGreener. Last week I was ready for the baseball season to wind down. Today, the day of the last game of 2018 for the Mariners and I'm missing it already. This was the first year in nearly two decades, when, for more than a month, we were an actual contendah... But, in the end, we cling to our notoriety as the only team in Major League Baseball to never ever, not even once, play in the World Series. Even so, I'll miss these guys.

Every year I say that I have no interest in watching the other teams battle it out in post season play and, usually, every year, I watch anyway. This year, I'm pretty sure I'm done. I don't even have a way to watch most of the playoffs.

Last week I remembered I wanted to take the extra channels off my TV cable package. I went to their website and filled out their email form asking them to do it. Two days later, I got a reply saying I'd have to call to get that done. (At least it was a real email and not a blowsmokeupmyskirt copy paste job.)

So I sent a note to Good Old Katie asking her to do it. I got a response within an hour saying it had been taken care of.

And note to me... That Papa Murphy's pizza last night was not nearly as good as the elcheapo Favs used to be. Possibly it was my attitude about my favorite being discontinued. I don't know. I may try it one more time but I think I'm going to have to find a new favorite pizza. Sigh.

I was looking at the standings this morning as the final games of the season are being played. The Mariners are finishing 15 games above .500 and just out of the final wildcard spot. Considering previous seasons, I think they did well. Was it worse to get your hopes up?

espn.com's "expanded" standings include a column for "expected" wins and losses, based on some formula involving runs for and against. According to this formula, the Mariners won 12 more games than "expected", which is an unusually large difference.

Baseball season for me ended with my divorce. My ex-husband is a true Yankees fan so when we got together, I was pretty much submersed into it. We went to a game every year and I got into it quite a bit but now that I live in France with my new and much much better husband, it's soccer. Besides, after Joe Torre - the former Yankees manager, and Mariano Rivera retired, the team went downhill for me. I did see them play the Mariners a few times...was it when Josh somethingorother was on the team before he came to the Yankees? I can't remember now as it was so long ago!

Is ESPN one of the channels you don't get (or cancelled)? It's not often (maybe never before?) that there are two tie-breaker games on the same day. Yeah, it's the National League. and I don't really care about either the Dodgers or the Rockies (I don't even seem to be holding my 60-year grudge against the Dodgers any more), but I still would like to see the Cubs get in. A Cubs-Sox World Series wouldn't be the amazing thing it would have been in 2003, but it would still be nice.
