[livejournal.com profile] barefoot_dyke really said it best... I am so glad that we are only hours away from the downhill slide off Oscar hype. I've had it. I'm done. I've heard enough. I don't give a rats ass what whoever is wearing. The end.

I pulled out my sewing machine last night to do a few little things that had stacked up. I broke the needle and used my last note. Note to self: get more. And I learned that the two little TV tables I picked up at Goodwill a few weeks ago - to tide me over until my own coffee table can be my dining table again - are excellent for small sewing projects. I was going to give them away but now I think I need to find a place for them to live here permanently. I paid $100 for that sewing machine and I have probably only used it 4 or 5 times but you know, when you need a sewing machine, nothing else will do. I love that thing.

My Netflix yesterday was In Her Shoes. It was pretty good. A lot of the plot revolves around a like the kind of place where Mom lives. Something about the scenes with the old people was not ringing true and I could not put my finger on it for the longest time and then it hit me... Those people could hear! They carried on conversations built on quips and nuances and side comments. Never happen in the real world. Every conversation is punctuated with "what?" "I'm sorry" "Did you say...?" "huh?" The old people at this home were all genetically mutated with the hearing of the young.

Whenever I go to the grocery store, the first thing that happens when I walk back into my house is that I remember what it was that I forgot to get. When I order online, I have until about 6 hours before my delivery, to change my order. Nice. On my way now to add a few things to tomorrow's delivery.

I read the book In Her Shoes after I saw the movie and enjoyed it. It's the same, but different enough that it is really enjoyable. Some might consider it fluff though. But I admit I like some fluff.

What a luxury, groceries, delivered. Not available here in the sticks.

In Her Shoes was a pretty good read, too. Not so much about the 'home' though.

Glad your mom is getting back to her old self.
