Often as I read through my friends list I entertain a running commentary in my brain 'oh my, that does not seem like a good idea' or 'what? is he/she serious???' 'cool!' 'again with the xxx?!' 'awwww, that's so sweet'... I do this far more than commenting for various reasons. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

I'll bet 95% of the people reading my entry about buying cheap Amazon forks to replace mine with out of line tines, said to themselves... Oh that's not going to end well. CONGRATS!! You were 100% right. One of the main features, it turns out, of cheap Amazon forks is rippling tines! Sigh.

Oh well. I am still not making a road trip to Ikea to battle that store for forks. At least not today. I don't think. Probably not anyway.

Today I'm going to finish up my raincoat which is coming along nicely. I'd also like to go try the fried chicken sandwich touted at a new restaurant a couple of blocks from here. I'm thinking lunch. I have two more episodes of The Indian Doctor. So, see? No time to go all the way to Renton and then figure out where in the new Ikea (which is no longer even new) they have forks.

The feel of a rippled fork when you eat is so weird!

I'd fight for forks at Ikea if that fight ended (or began) with Swedish meatballs and an elderflower juice box. And dessert, definitely dessert.

OMG their chocolate cake is so good! Sometimes we skip the meatballs and go straight for the cake.

No time at all for forks in that schedule!

I do the internal commentary as well, it's why sometimes I 'think' I have commented on someones post when I hadn't yet. XD
Ohh, yeah, cheapy flatware is a crap shoot though Amazon. Sorry they didn't work out.
I hope you make it out to try the sandwich, it sounds so tasty.

Doesn’t IKEA do mail orders from their website? Could go that route if you are ok with the postage. (I would do it just because I don’t drive!)

I find the best time to go to IKEA is about 15 minutes before it is due to close. I can whip through, find what I want, and be at the cash at about the same time as the remaining few customers who had done the more normal thing of browsing their way through the store. Maybe this is also true when it first opens in the morning?

They did that to ours a few years ago too. The layout hasn’t changed much - there is just more of it. And they still have the signs and the arrows marking the way. You’ll survive. Go buy the forks! (Easy for me to say, since I rarely go there more than once a year)
