What a lovely first day of the year this turned out to be. I finished the couch off and made the rug. Love the rug. The couch will look fine but do not sit on it, k? And then I started on the guitar.

The instructions are so weird. No hand holding here at all. They tell you how to do it in pictures and a few not-very-well translated words. I have to study, study, study the instructions to figure out what in the heck they mean. The guitar has been the most difficult by far but I think I've got it figured out. I stopped because I needed to let the glue dry on the frets before I put the guitar strings on.

Then I tidied it all up and organized it into containers and put them in the closet. One of the things that is most discouraging about doing stuff like this is the mess. So I have been very careful with this to keep it organized and contained and it has made the experience - at least so far - very enjoyable.

I did forget to snap a pic before I put it all away. But I will when I take it all out tomorrow afternoon.

I listened to my audiobook while I did all this today and that was perfect. The one I'm reading now is good and I'm kind of smack in the middle of a really good part of the story. So it just added icing onto the day. Oh, the book is Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter.

Now I think I'll pick up the crochet hook and watch some TV.

I love Karin Slaughter's books! I got sucked in with her Grant County series and have been hooked ever since.
