Slacker Saturday?

That four day holiday weekend really fucked with my sleep patterns. I was all enured to getting up at 4:30 to swim. And then we had 4 days when the gym didn't open til 8 and it just cratored my routine and my body's happiness with that routine. This morning it was back to 8 and it was just not good. Plus there's a woman who comes into the pool on Saturdays and she just annoys me.

So today's swim was not that good. I had a bad attitude going in and during. Finally at 1,250 yards and 47 minutes, I quit. I am the boss of me, after all. And so the boss said I could leave early and I did. I went to Trader Joes and then on to Safeway and then home. Where I've butchered the last two hours internetting.

I got the email from the post office with today's mail and in it is the return of a card I sent out. I missed a number in the address. So I sent an email and then noticed that my 'signature' in the email includes a link to my G+ page. G+?? That's not only yesteryear but it has been taken over by boobs and snatch and is not something I want to send anyone to. So I needed a new link... why not my own domain? Except that page has the G+ link on it too. So then I had to edit the page. Then edit the email settings and then I could send out the email.

Then I got more coffee and decided I just don't like the latest coffee so I had to find/order different from Amazon.

Nothing is simple today.

But, my house is clean. Including the kitchen. And when I finished the tiny house work yesterday, I stopped and organized everything and cleaned up the work space. It amazes me how much tidy makes my outlook on everything better.

It's now noon and I really haven't done shit. I need to get off my butt and get going. I have groceries to put away, swimsuit to hang up, tiny shit to assemble and crocheting to crochet. Not to mention, I'm now hooked on The Brokenwood Mysteries from New Zealand on Acorn TV and Twitter just told me that another one of my favorites - No Offense has a new series starting this week. I love Acorn TV.

Do you try a different kind of coffee frequently? I have pretty much stuck with my favorite for a few years now, other than the Lao stuff that I brought home.

I drank this one kind for a hundred and fifty years and then, the price sky rocketed while the others all went down (k-cups). I'm not that picky on flavor (I didn't think) so I jumped ship. Now this one's too weak and that one's too weird tasting and this one's too .... ya know? And they no longer make/sell my old stuff. I'm looking for the goldilocks of coffee for the next one hundred and fifty years.

Moral of the story is don't change. There's no future in it.

I subscribed to Acorn TV for the free week trial, and once I watched all the Agatha Christie stuff that isn't on BritBox, I could find anything worth the month's fee, so I canceled it. I get my money's worth out of BritBox every month, though.

different strokes! i did acorn for a month originally and then left for britbox. i couldn't even find a month's worth of stuff on britbox that i liked so i went back to acorn. happily.

Hi! I've just friended you as I really enjoy your journal. Mine isn't very good value as I rarely post - I'm more of a commenter these days. As a New Zealander I was thrilled to hear you enjoy the Brokenwood Mysteries. They've been very popular overseas although I'm not entirely sure why.

Welcome!! Where in New Zealand? I'm a huge Kiwi fan.

I first found The Brokenwood Mysteries because they were New Zealand but, turns out, except for the accents, their New Zealandness has little to do with this likeability.

They are good simply because they are an oh so easy to watch formula. The scenery is always lovely. There is a nice set of recurring characters all of whom are likeable. The murders are simple as are the resolutions. Each episode is painless with an easy to follow plot. Oh, and the accents are easy to understand.

A Kiwi fan? Awesome! Yes, as you discovered, I'm in Auckland, the only ugly part of NZ:). It's where the work is, though, so what ya gonna do? Interesting about Brokenwood. I haven't actually watched it myself yet - I found the first episode a tiny bit boring, but I recently saw the beginning of the first episode of the latest season and that was a big improvement so I have to give it another try.

Ahhh just looked and saw - Auckland. Nice.

I made my very first internet friend because of my love of New Zealand. When I created my first web page - just playing around - I included all the links to New Zealand I could find. I had just come back from my second trip there and was newly enamoured. A guy, who at that time was in Dunedin, found my page and sent me a note. That was 1995. We corresponded for years. He came to visit. Then he got married. Then he moved to Wellington. Then they came to visit. Then they moved to Cromwell. And they came again two years ago. Every year he sends me a picture calendar from New Zealand full of pictures of sheep (I love sheep). So he's still keeping my Kiwi fandom alive. :)
