Again with the East Coast rain storm tonight!!! Only this one was a serious one. Very strange. 45ish degrees and several sincere thunder claps and very visible lightning. Rock and roll!!! Almost as good as snow...

Poor Mom - who loves thunder storms - is just running out of steam, I fear. Polly says her get up and go has got up and went. She has no energy to do much of anything but sit in her chair and nap. It is harder and harder for her to breathe. And, I think she's just tired - maybe tired of living and I don't blame her a bit. Tomorrow she has nothing she has to do - no doctor's appointment or anything so I'm hoping, if I time it right - I can call and we can get in a chat.

And a thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dragonvpm! He suggested a trip to Radio Shack to see if I could find a converter to use my cellphone headset for my land line phone. That was a no. BUT, the cute little boys who worked there were all over my problem and recommended the Voice Star. They told me I could try it for up to 30 days and if I didn't like it, bring it right back. Well, I've now used it 3 times and they ain't gettin' it back!! I can hear people on the phone now!! Yeah, it could be better. And probably if I had to wear it all day, it would drive me nuts. It does not fit perfectly around my head and the voice boom seems strangely placed but the people I talk to say they can hear be better than ever and I can sure hear there. That's all I wanted. I am one happy camper.

My new table liftter upper works great. Just great.

In Redmond, we got to see something so strange I've never seen it before: snow that looked like hail from far away and kind of like popcorn or crumbled feta up close. It was light - unlike hail - and lasted about thirty minutes before it melted. Bizarre!

I love thunderstorms...as long as I don't have to be out in them!). That's one thing I would definitely miss if we ever decide to head west one day.

Thunderstorms are one of my favorite nature shows.
I'm sorry your mother is feeling so badly.
