My dining room table is mine again. And back to its roots. (And look how cool those new ottomans - ottomen? - look!)

Whew. I still don't know what I'm going to do with this thing but it is kind of cute. There are all manner of sloppy glueing mistakes, mismatches, wonky, crooked, messy stuff here but if you squeeze your eyes when you look at the pictures, you only see cute. (In fact, there is a dust shield that came with the kit that is 3 pieces of precisely cut plastic to enclose everything BUT, I'm leaving them off because my version is not 'true' and the plastic will only point out how off it is.)

Here are two shots and the rest are in a Flickr album.

I'm not sure which one I'll get next - there are way too many to pick from... the fabric shop? the house with the pool? the other house with the pool that is actually a lap pool??? one of the smaller ones that is just one room?

Right now I'm going to have some lunch and then I'm going to spend some quality time with Grandpa's family.

You could scatter tiny stuff all over the place, a sock here, a magazine there, an empty glass on the table...to make it look like someone lives there only during the night ;)

I just like the idea of tiny people living there you never get to see :D

Hahahaha... I totally thought the first picture was a mini house! Everything is so neat!

It looks great! I like it so much that I looked into maybe trying one... I'm particularly tempted by these ones that come in frames (https://smile.amazon.com/Flever-Dollhouse-Miniature-Valentines-Home-White/dp/B0756D5KH8/ref=sr_1_37?ie=UTF8&qid=1548795196&sr=8-37&keywords=diy+mini+house+squirrel) so you could hang them on the wall...

I hope it doesn't turn out to be too good, because then it might convince me that I need one too...

The reason I didn't buy it right away is that I was thinking I'd rather design my own room. Only I'm not sure where I'd get the little pieces of wood and things required to make my own little tiny furniture... When I made furniture for my dolls/doll house before, they were always just made out of paper or cardboard, which didn't really hold up very well...

Ack! Ive been resisting these on the grounds that I have nowhere to put them, once I’m done. (I’ve done only one, and thats on a shelf. I don’t need any more.) but the frames negate the objection: I have wall space.

I held out for a long time, though.

Hopefully it's not wall space in a narrow corridor, because my one concern was that it seems like these must stick out a fair amount!

I can easily see why you enjoy these so much. The end product is very cute, and the process appears to be a creatively detailed exercise. Nice job, Susan!

The ottomans as dining chairs work so well! Such a good idea.

Goodness, seeing on the kitchen counter with articles that put the size into perspective I can see it's really "mini"! I'm very impressed - it's cute, creative and quite intricate.

That is just so cute.

Also, how amazing is it that I have an identical brown ottoman?

I hope to see Zoey sleeping on that bed in the miniature someday...
