update - still snowing

That's an Uber Rent A Bike, the ready for tear down viaduct, the mechanics of the new tunnel (the lights in there rotate through colors continuously), moi, the boats in the parking lot from my terrace and You Know Who.

My foray out into the flakes was short. It was so windy. The wind chill made it not as much fun as it could have been. Or, said another way... FUCK IT WAS COLD! I walked over to the new interchange to see what I could see. Turns out, it's confusing. I had to come home and restudy the maps to figure it out. They made new roads/access/ramps and reconnected old ones and some aren't open yet and the signs are either not finished or just flat out confusing.

Once I try it out, it will be fine but at least now I know that my original plan to get from here to the pool was wrong. Well, not wrong, but certainly not at all the most straightforward way. I get it now. Or at least enough to get to the pool.

And then I came home. I think the rest of this snow storm will be enjoyed from my living room.

I'm making honey garlic ribs in the slow cooker. My guess is that they will either be spectacular or inedible. The ribs were on sale and I had all the other ingredients on hand so outlay $6. I have a backup for dinner if fail.

The Winter Weather Advisory has now been extended to 1 pm. I think I'll go make some bears.

The snow looks so exciting! Definitely sounds like it is best enjoyed from indoors though.

I know it seems like that but... consider... we get nearly no snow ever. And we are a city of massively steep hills. People here do not know how to drive when the roads are slick. And we have very little equipment/infastructure for making them unslick. My twitter feed is one accident after another - roads blocked/closed. It's a mess out there. Does not take many flakes to get there.

We got ten inches of snow out in the Snoqualmie River Valley!! I still can't quite believe it... that's the most (by a LOT) since we moved to this house a bit over five years ago.

Holy cracky! While it did snow here for hours and hours and hours, i'm guessing we got maybe an inch. It was snow and I'm grateful but it was kind of an ugly snow. Enough to screw up the streets and the traffic but not at all pretty. I'm thinking about asking for my money back.

But 10 inches is serious business!

We were only supposed to get 1-2 inches, according to the forecasts. We started getting snow last night, but it wasn't sticking to the pavement... and was really only slightly piling up on the grass. By the time I went to bed a bit after midnight, it was starting to coat the sidewalk and driveway... and I was really glad my husband had already decided to work from home today. We got an *insane* amount of snow (seriously, ten inches?!?!). I still can't quite believe it. Roads around here are terrible, even when they've been plowed and sanded... so I was really glad when my massage appointment this afternoon was canceled (no one could get in to the clinic).

yup. now that the snow's over and the streets are dry and clear, everyone is closing up shop and going home early... seattle and snow. always such a giggle

And of course here in New England we're having the second day in a row with highs in the 60s. I think somebody in the Weather Delivery Department got confused and sent you our weather and vice versa.

OK, I've read ahead 3 posts and didn't see a verdict on the honey garlic ribs in the slow cooker! I'll keep reading but if you didn't post about it---how were they? I have a pressure cooker that I received Christmas 2017 and I'm leaning closer and closer to giving it a whirl and I think ribs would do well in it. Not the same as a slow cooker but your rib recounting has inspired me further!

Ha. Nope. My ribs were underwhelming. Eatable but not worth the effort. Sorry. I suspect, however, someone who cares more about cooking could probably do a bang up job of them in the pressure cooker.
