The forecasters are lowering the predicted snow totals with every tweet. AND while that's happening, everything in town is being cancelled. Heck, they just moved Chinese New Year to the first week and March and Michelle Obama to the third week. (the 'they' there is actually two different theys but still).

It truly is anyone's guess. Currently, predictions call for the snow to start tomorrow afternoon and end tomorrow night or Saturday afternoon. Accumulation will be anywhere from a flake to 18". Stay tuned.

Late breaking... they just announced Seattle schools will be dismissed tomorrow 75 minutes early.

A new shop opened up in the neighborhood today so I went over to pay my respects.

DEAR RETAIL PEOPLE. You do not get many changes to make a first impression. A whole lot o' those chances come on your opening day. SO, I know you are tired and frustrated and excited and thrilled but... for the sake of Month 2, you might want to bend over backwards to make sure your new customers are impressed so they will be happy to come back. This is especially true when you are selling a very expensive perishable luxury item. Love, me.

Yeah, don't chastise another employee in front of me. And don't you get whiny with me about anything. It's not my fault that your bags don't accommodate your boxes and you chose to put my items in a box. All I asked for was cookies and entremets. I did not specify packaging.

I pouted and huffed all the way home and then had one of the entremets. It's the size of a cupcake. And it's beautiful. (And yeah, it does look like a boob dressed up for a fancy tea.)

BUT OMG was it heaven. This particular one had an outside shell of creamy creme brulee kind of with an inside of gooey with a tiny bit of crunch and the flavor of a cinnamon bun. Only better. Now I have to go back even if they did piss me off. damnit.

Oh and mainly they do macarons.

I'm making progress on my latest tiny-dom. I still have the top shelf items to make. In the distance here is the photo. As you can see, I made changes to their shelf arrangement... because I can! Oh and it looks like I need another row of rope on my fruit basket. Nothing is glued down yet so it all could change. Who knows!! Soy sauce for perspective.

Now I have to go back even if they did piss me off. damnit. There is a Gourmet bake shop not too far from my house. The cakes are wonderful (expensive AF) and most days (even week days) the line is out the door. Because he has a booming business (and 2 other shops) he doesn't do the PR stuff (giving out GC to local charities, bending over backwards for customers etc.) like other business in the area. He figures, his product and business is good, so he doesn't have to bother. I've also found really good chefs have the same attitude.

I am new to your blog and am enjoying it immensely! I stumbled across it when I was looking for the webcam for a place we stay in Florida ( we live in CT) I found a site called "Larrysvacationwebcams" that had web cams from all over, of crazy things, not just the place we stay. Your webcam was on there and I was fascinated! Then I saw that you have this blog. You are a wonderful writer, I really enjoy your "spin" on things and your sense of humor. I retired a couple of years ago, and I get a kick out of hearing about how other retired women fill their days...I can guarantee you one thing, you won't see me out and about as early as you, I give you a lot of credit for that.
Keep up the good work, it's great fun to read and now I look forward to it every day!
Thanks,
Susan (yes I'm Susan too ;) )
