My new breakfast burritos are excellent. My theory is that the cooking the eggs until they were hard scrambled and then letting them cool completely before I burritoed them was the ticket. I normally don't like hard scrambled eggs but, honestly, these had great taste and texture once they were packed into the burrito. I only added cheese and salt and pepper. And I'm sold. I'll be interested to taste the ones I froze to see if they are as successful.

Yesterday at Grocery Outlet, I picked up a pint of ice cream. The brand is Steve's, which I'd never heard of but apparently is a thing most everywhere but the west coast. Anyway, the flavor I got was Banana Pudding. I tried it last night. OMG. It is wonderful!! I'm going to have to go back today and get some more. The thing about Grocery Outlet is that about half their inventory is one and done. If you find something you love, chances are you will never see it there again. So when I find something like Steve's Banana Pudding ice cream, I go right back and stock up. Happily, I now have freezer room. This is absolutely a good use of it.

In other good news, my new ear medicine is arriving today instead of Monday. Whew and yeah! And, of course, now that it's nearly here, my ears feel fine. Also arriving today are my new pans from IKEA.

I did not watch the Big Bang Theory last night. I had a baseball game and needed to watch the Mariners lose again. I may watch it today. There's also an after show. I loved this show from the first 5 minutes of the pilot. But, now that it's done, I am, too. I'm ready to watch the end and move on.

I'm still reading or rather listening to The Peacock Emporium and only have 4 hours left. I am not ready for it to end at all. Not one bit.

Let us know your thoughts on the 2 part BBT finale. We watched last night, and I liked it but somehow aside from 1 scene near the end it didn't feel as satisfying as a "we're done forever" finale usually does. And 1 bit just felt tossed in to make us feel good, it didn't fit the character. I haven't watched the after show yet though.

That was the same thing I took issue with. It was definitely done for the emotional impact, and no other reason. Time wasted that could have been used better on other things in the finale.

I've never had banana pudding ice cream in my life and now it's the only thing I want to eat.

Many years ago there was newly opened ice cream store in Davis Square in Somerville that made ice-cream on site and mixed in stuff. It was called Steve's Ice Cream because it was started by Steve Harrell. We went there a few tijes; there were long lines - sometimes the wait was close to a 1/2 hour.

There some ownership battles and at some point Steve Herrell opened a new set of stores called Herrells which still exist. I don't know if they have anything to do with Steve Herrell.

The current Steve's Ice-cream is a newer venture.

Interesting. And yummy.

We have a west coast chain with an outlet here that people stand in line for. My friend, Frank, loves it and dragged me one time. We stood in line for an hour. For my money, the ice cream was worth maybe 10 minutes of line standing. It was no Steve's for sure.

The history of Steve's ice cream (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve%27s_Ice_Cream) is interesting and a bit convoluted. I remember when the original one opened in Somerville (next city over from Cambridge) and I was one of those people who stood in line for 45 minutes for what was then the Ultimate Ice Cream Experience.

The store had a player piano, and if you put in a quarter (I think) you could listen to some old-time piano music while you waited in line.

I have fond memories of Steve’s from my college years. But Emack and Bolio overtook them by the time I graduated. Now, when I visit Cambridge, I go to Toscanini.
