can you see me now?
Mar. 19th, 2006 09:58 amI think I got a bad batch of contact lenses. I've gone through the first box of 6 for each eye and out of that box maybe 3 each were good. Mostly I just cannot see as well out of them. But, one of the ones for the left eye was so thick it hurt to have it in my eye. I'm supposed to change them out every 2 weeks but I've gotten so now when I get a pair that is decent, I keep wearing them for a month (they aren't the 30 day ones - I take them out every night).
I took out a pair that were working fine last night and put in a new pair this morning and I swear they are not as good as the ones I took out. I cannot see the words I am typing now as well as I could with the other ones. Fuck.
The eye doctor asks me every time if I am only using them for 2 weeks and last time I told her I was using them longer and I asked what the danger was and she gave me an answer that made no sense to me. But, I figure she might know what she's talking about and I really should not be getting so many bad ones.
I've sent a note to 1-800-Contacts - asking if it's possible I got a bad batch. It will be interested to hear what they have to say... I think I'm going to deep six this one in my right eye now and see if I can see this better. fuck.

Date: 2006-03-19 06:13 pm (UTC)I get mine from Wal-Mart and they are about $20 a box. I haven't gotten a bad lens in a long time, so I think 3 out of 6 is not good.
And in my opinion, I think the docs say two weeks so they don't get sued. And they also say it so you buy more contacts from them and they make more money.

What's the crazy pain in the ass cleaner? I don't even how how to clean them!
And, as of right now, 2 weeks is out the window. This pair I have in right now is fine and I'm going to wear them until they disintegrate!
