Holy Consumer, Batman
Mar. 19th, 2006 10:18 amOk, so I finished typing up that entry and hit 'post' and then got up to toss the right lens and try a new one. By the time I got back to my computer I had a note from 1-800-Contacts. I figured it was a 'this is an automated message, please listen carefully as our options have changed, do not reply to this email address, for your safety your conversation may be recorded, you'll get a reply in 24-48 hours' cya email message so I actually opened up Semagic to test vision of the words that with the last lens were hard to see.
This new lens is fine. I'm good for a month.
So then I went to check the automated reply and discovered that it was an email from a real person who apologized for the bad lenses, assured me they would replace any bad ones and asked me for specifics - how many of which lenses - needed replacing and she'd send them right out.
That's just fucking spooky.

Date: 2006-03-19 07:30 pm (UTC)So... here's the dets...
Here are the lenses I am wearing: http://www.1800contacts.com/Product.aspx?itm=001528&cv=000360
I take them out every night and plop them into their little case who's wells are filled with some all purpose solution. I pop them back in every morning. The doctor told me to toss the old ones and start new ones every two weeks. I've been doing it every month instead and now might just do it longer.

They used to recommend that you can wear these for up to a month without ever taking them out, but they've strobgly pulled back from that advice.
