I just got a tracking number for the replacement lenses that 1-800-Contacts is sending me for free. 2nd day air and they will be here on Wednesday. Remember this started with my filling out a form on their website asking (not bitching just asking) if it was possible that I had gotten a bad batch of lenses... I did this on Sunday morning. Amazing. Just amazing service.

I had a long talk with Torry at the trust department about what it will mean to have them handle the estate. Sounds like it will mean that I can lounge on my chaise and eat bonbons and wait for the cash to roll in. Every time I asked her how this happened or how that happened she said 'oh we'll take care of that' or 'we can do that for you'...

I do not have to go to South Carolina. Plus, I can ask Torry any stupid question. She thinks I'm great and smart and will not think I'm silly or stupid if I ask a silly stupid question. Whew. It's going to take 8-10 months to settle the estate but, she said that since we know where everything is and everything is either liquid or close to it, plus we know she has no surprise debts, it should be easy and straightforward. Whew.

And she's very cool on some kind of ancillary stuff I want to do right away (not wait for the estate to settle) like give Polly a financial gift. And she also has a grasp on the family dynamics so I don't have to be coy or diplomatic.

Such a relief.

And otherwise I have managed to fuck away this entire day. I have done a little work work but only fixing two things I broke yesterday and answering emails. Nothing billable. But, that's ok. Tomorrow I have to go out to Redmond to train a client and Friday I go back to interview for a possible new project.
