Whew

New stove came and it's a beauty. No time to play with it yet or take a picture but stay tuned.

The box of stuff my sister sent arrived and... sure enough... there's the original of the will. Ya kind of know it's an original cause of the Notary Seal? The blue ink autographs? OR you could just go with the big old label on the file folder that says ORIGINAL OF WILL AND LEGAL DOCS.

Sheesh. I sent her a note telling her that I had found it. I got a very fast answer back. I was kind of expecting something along the lines of a mea culpa - 'I'm so sorry for putting you to all that extra trouble and worry...' What I got was 'whew, thanks for letting me know! so... where do you keep the original of your will?'

Well, see, I sent the original of my will to the executor. Who is the executor, you ask? My fucking sister.

There is now a giant pile of mother stuff on my kitchen counter. I need to go through it all. Ugh. Oh well. Gotta be done.

And, outside of a couple of little fire drills, I have not had time to get any work done today. I think I'd better just stop everything else and do a little. I do have the weekend and I don't have more than a weekend's worth of work to do but I may want to fuck off and spend some of the weekend doing nothing.

Ramble ramble ramble... raw hide! (now, there's a tv/cultural reference that is pretty darned obscure... but I'm hearing that theme song in my head...)

I, too, got the reference, but you can't expect a lot of people to, since the series ended 40 years ago. I got to see almost all of the episodes, 'cause it was my father's favorite show. He was born and raised in Montana and thoroughly enjoyed when they correctly showed how things were done and enjoyed it even more when he could point out the faults.

As a commentary on something a few weeks ago, I hummed the theme from The Twilight Zone and my listener had no idea what I was referring to. And I don't think she was all that young.

Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates. Now that makes me drool just thinking of it. I generally don't give a hoot about celebrities, I was not even that impressed with Elvis, but Clint Eastwood at almost any time just gives me chills.

Now I can't stop thinking of Robert McCloskey's Centerburg Tales, specifically the story "Pie and Punch and You-Know-Whats".

Your sister is such a fucktard. You should draft up a new will leaving all your stuff to your cats. Your cats are much cooler.

I will say one thing about your sister, and that is that she does bring an occasional sense of hilarity to us the readers of your journal, even if it's not the same kind of good natured, belly laughing kind that your mom did. That probably makes no sense to anyone but my twisted mind, though. ;-)
