Did I just do a better job than normal?

Today's closet clean out was a way bigger job than it has been in the past and I'm not quite sure why. I took before, during and after and they aren't even that impressive. I did spent a fair amount of time on the small stuff. Instead of getting a big box and tossing all the swim stuff in it, I went through all the swim stuff and culled and organized it. Ditto other batches of stuff.

I found two summer knit dresses that I had looked for last July and when I couldn't find, I just figured I'd given them to Goodwill. Nope. I put them with the summer clothes so next year, I will know. But a fair amount of clothes did get into the Goodwill bag.

I ended up with two very full 13 gallon trash bags of trash and one full one for Goodwill.

Now shit isn't falling out of the closet and I have a much better idea of what I actually have in there.

The help of two cats made the process way more interesting. I am now totally exhausted and filthy and satisfied.

If you have an organizer heart then you will be really tickled when I tell you that half of the stuff in there now is containers. Empty containers - all sizes. Stuff to put stuff in. No stuff in it now.

In January when my brother is here, we will do the same to two large cabinets out on the terrace. Once we get those cleared out, I will move the containers out there (after culling). That will truly be amazing.

It looks good! Amazing how it has to become a bigger mess before it looks better. That's the part that tends to make me get sidetracked and I don't finish what I start. lol Also, I love your dresser with all those colors!

Yes! That dresser. I need to get rid of it because it's really impractical and I need the space but I cannot stand even a hint of not having it so I have to appreciate it twice as much :)

That looks fantastic now! What a huge job.  The part in the middle where everything is everywhere always makes me want to lie down and cry.  Good plan putting stuff on the bed though as then you have no option but to keep on going unless you want to fight the cats for somewhere to sleep.

Looks amazing! I could do with your organisational skills, but I really don't have them.

We've got a LOT of storage space here which is both a blessing and a curse. Everything looks tidy but there's so much crap that we are never going to use squirreled away all over the house that I'm dreading the downsizing move. When it happens I'm minded to just discard everything and start again.
