The fleece blanket on the bed, next to me, continues to work beautifully. When I go to sleep, I lay it out for the cats but neither are to be found. But, they are always both there when I wake up to turn over or get up to pee and they pretty much stay there. I got up at 3:30 this morning to pee and they mistook that for MORNING!! So I fed them and went back to bed. I got right back to sleep and when I woke again, they were cuddled on their cat pad. We slept in and it was great.

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, had coffee and a breakfast burrito and got a shower and here we are.

My shower is a bathtub shower which I have always hated, but feared giving up for a standing shower lest one day I need a soak. But now I know I'll never take a bath because getting out of the shower is dicey enough, getting up from a bath is begging for a fall. But, since I rarely use the thing it seems wasteful to convert it at this point plus a PIA. So I thinking grab bars. If I put one at the edge so I can hold on to when I step over the tub side, that will probably work fine.

Another thing on the 'bro' list for January. I probably should start writing these things down...

The plan this morning is to go catch the free shuttle which will take me about 3/4ths the way to the restaurant and, most importantly, cover the uphill part of the trip. Then do brunch and then do movie and then home. Or do something else.

Those handles are really handy!  I've had family members use them and it was really helpful.

When we lived in NJ in a plain vanilla 3 BR, 1 bath rancher I wanted to remove the tub and have a shower pan put into the same footprint. I can't tell you how many people tried to tell me "You'll never be able to sell the house without a tub". I did it anyway and it made me happy for the 3 more years before moving to Maine.

I sold the house in 4 weeks, had 3 offers above asking price and ultimately sold to a family with 3 little kids and 2 dogs.

My house here has a big, beautiful shower with a molded seat in the master bath and a tub that I have to dust in the upstairs bath - it has never been used.

Remember that Wal-Mart sells handles with suction grips that you can place where you want one and move it elsewhere if you wish to. They're really, er, handy.
