Busy Busy Busy day around here. The house cleaner comes today which means I need to get out of the house. I have a mega load for Goodwill. Then I think I'll stop by Daiso and Uwajimaya. Hopefully she'll be done by then. I have a short list of stuff I'd like to get done this afternoon. Then it will be time to go to the ballgame.
I'm more than a little frustrated by the impeachment thing. I don't believe for one second that there is evidence strong enough to remove him from office. But now his opposition will be totally focused on impeachment instead of defeating him in 2020 or, god forbid, running the damn country. It's not like we don't have a few gazillion issues that Congress could and should be actually doing. So, we'll be ringing our hands about how orange he is until he is re-elected. These are thekind of things that make me glad I am (hopefully) near end of life.
But, meanwhile, back on earth... Amazon has a retail/device/? announcement today at 10am. I'm just hoping that there's nothing in the offing that is tempting. I'll be buying a new phone in October and that's enough of a spend after the tablet and the printer. So I hope it's just untempting Stuff I Don't Need.
The cats have started, in the past couple of days, using the scratching posts. They have used the on with bowls to get up to the top but never just for scratching. Also they seem to be doing more separately. Biggie is up and about this morning. Actually driving me a little crazy wanting to be on this table and on this keyboard. The Smalls is somewhere sleeping. But they still come together for a lot of their catness. And there is something so much funnier about two cats doing stuff than one. Like this. When I got up last night to go into bed, these are the looks I got.

Date: 2019-09-25 04:43 pm (UTC)And let's just imagine that he manages to not only be impeached by both houses, but convicted, and removed from office before the 2020 election, which seems to have about 0% odds of happening. Is Mike Pence the Republican candidate then? Everyone has spent YEARS strategizing about how to beat Trump in 2020. It may or may not work. But I doubt anyone has a plan for Mike Pence. I can imagine that going so many different ways... Or it could be someone else entirely, and we'd be even more completely unprepared!
Mike Pence as president terrifies me.

Date: 2019-09-25 05:19 pm (UTC)I'm with you on the impeachment thing. There is no way that the Senate will ever convict him. the votes simply will not be there. So - what's the point? Meanwhile, the country's governing will suffer. Plus, democrats will be so immersed in the complex impeachment process that they'll forget to think strategically and pick a candidate who can actually beat Trump in 2020.
The other thing is Mike Pence. Let's say we get rid of Trump. Whose left but this ultimate Trump puppet and born again Christian all rolled up into One.
