Ok, now I'm just a genius

susandennisI thought that somewhere I had a string of LED backlighting that maybe I could use behind the fire screen. I opened the drawer where I thought they were and discovered a wad of twinkle lights. I bought them years ago to string up outside on the terrace just before the condo board created a rule that said no can do.
They've been in the drawer since then and should have, long ago, gone to Goodwill but... thankfully, I hadn't gotten to that drawer in the Great CleanOut.
So I dumped 'em in the firebox.
And, now look.
I can hardly stand it. It's so perfect. They twinkle like fire!!
And I put them on a smart plug so now Alexa turns the fire on and off whenever I ask!
Seriously. I am going to strain my shoulder with all this patting myself on the back.

I would have that exact setup in a heartbeat, as I have a hideous but necessary wire screen that stops the cats from trying to climb up the chimney (sigh), but they're not going to ship one of those to me, dammit.
