My new ironing board arrived and I decided to put it together myself. I'm glad I did and I'm also very glad I have hired a guy to put together the other stuff. Enough. The hardest part was getting up and down off the floor. I do hate stuff that makes me sweaty.

But, I am very pleased with this ironing board! I had this ugly rickety one for the longest time. It had wheels and drop down sides so I could roll it in to the closet which was handy but it was so ugly and I knew one day the cats were going to pull it and the iron over on themselves so out it went.

This on is very sturdy and about 5 inches higher (my back is quite excited about this development) and attractive!

I'm quite proud of the fact that I remembered to make a pattern of the top before I attached it so I can make a decent looking cover for it.

And don't think for one minute that I didn't have help.

His brother helped so much that by the time I took this picture he was already resting in exhaustion.

Most everything is now tidied up and vacuumed and really it looks so much better! That turquoise cart replaced an ugly rickety cart, too.

Nice!  I just have one of the old fashioned collapsible kind that I store next to the washer when not in use. It makes a horrible screech every time I unfold it.

Yeah, we have one like that too. And the elastic on every cover we've ever bought for it loses much of its grip within a few uses (we don't iron a whole lot).

What a very good idea for a stable ironing board!
I think I'll cobble one up for myself as well.

Where did you get that ironing board? Don't think I've ever seen one with integrated storage before.

I am so glad you had help putting this all together.
