Two weeks ago, I went swimming on Sunday morning and none of the regulars were there. Today they all were. It was like old home week. So funny. And nice.

Then on to Trader Joe's where, miraculously, I only got the three things I went in for. I got two cans of chili and would have gotten way more but that was all that was left. Of the beef chili. They had truckloads of turkey chili. Take a hint TJ's. Turkey chili is lame.

Then home to breakfast. I love fried eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. I don't even mind cooking it all. I hate cleaning up after. That's what's after this entry.

Biggie and The Smalls are chill this morning. At least right now. This was earlier.

The dirty clothes hamper now lives in the closet behind a little bit of wall that sticks out. But does that keep The Smalls from tipping it over to climb inside. Of course not. He lives for that action as seen above when he demonstrates for Biggie.

Today will be knitting. Yesterday was knitting. The yarn/fabric shop down the road had enough good colors for what I needed and it was too expensive but shoplocal so ok. From noon til 8:30, I worked on this pattern. I ripped it out and started again a biscillion times. I finally got 5 rows done successfully and went to bed.

This is the pattern.

It is the only thing I have ever found every - in 64 years of knitting - that stumped me. I've tried for years. And failed. But this time, I'm going to not fail. Even if it takes another biscillioin rip outs.

This is the language for the next row (It's the row after the 3 fingers pointing up):

K1, 3, K1, S2KP, K7, KYOK, K1, 3, K1, KYOK, K1, 3, K1,
KYOK, K7, S2KP, K1, 3, K1, S2KP, rep another 1 (1, 3) times

Can you say tedious??! But, I will get it. I will.

I just went to the bathroom and was followed there by two cats and The Stickie. [livejournal.com profile] zoefruitcake mentioned the other day that her cats no longer follow her to the loo and it makes her sad. I will absolutely be crushed when I can, once again, pee alone.

That looks like a very challenging pattern.

Sounds like the cats are really livening up the atmosphere!

So glad you've been able to get back to the pool.

I am in total awe of this. I have never been able to finish any knitting or crocheting project, alas, even if I am able to do this. Now I seem to know it could be my brain, and I am readying needles and wool for when I get meds. I am planning hats and scarves for the beginning. Woo hoo!

To not finish some stuff maybe.. but NEVER finish ANYTHING... at a certain point it gets old!

The kitties are probably wondering why you always hide away the good smelling clothes in the hamper.

That pattern is fantastic. I love doing colourwork. What will it be, or did you post that already and I missed it?

I used to make homemade chili out of a mixture of lean ground beef, turkey and a little lamb, and I thought it was really good.

I would not have the patience for that pattern. When I knit, I like to be able to read at the same time. I'll be looking forward to seeing your finished piece!

What a stunning pattern - not quite my speed, I'm currently knitting garter stitch and I'm making mistakes in that:). My cats are ten and are still supervising my loo visits (and showers) so hopefully you'll have loo companions for a long time to come.

I don’t understand that pattern. What does the arrow mean?

And what puzzled me to no end was entrelac. I finally took a class to make sense of it. And it turned out to be reasonably easy and fun.

Welp, I can understand the start overs.

Are the lonely 3s in that pattern an indicator for 'make 3 fingers'?

I've been working on a much simpler pattern that requires constant counting. I got so frustrated t is in time out languishing and neglected.

Good luck.

Biggie seems much improved.

The last time I was owned (part time) by a furry one, she (Neko) would come in while I was sitting on my "throne" and she would perform an intricate dance for me. There were several parts to it and she would get extremely upset it I ignored her for even a moment to concentrate on a Suduko puzzle which was also on my lap. I had to watch her entire performance and wait until she left the bathroom before I could attend to myself again.

I should have felt privileged that she had choreographed her performance just for me. And, of course, I miss her now that she is just a memory. My skill at Suduko continues to improve though the fruit flies (a long story, not this time) do communicate their irritation to me with their eyes if I tarry too long at the puzzle.
