I keep seeing report of mail theft around here recently - apparently there's a ring of mail thieves operating lately. I kind of want to know where to sign up to get on their program. My mailbox is never has anything more than ads and flyers. I'd be happy to donate all of it to their cause.

Last year, or maybe the year before, I got my first yarn winder. I had always wound my yarn into balls. This little sucker wound it into much tidier cakes. I really liked it but the damn thing is so wobbly and fiddly to operate that I wound up not even using it much.

When I organized my yarn not long ago, I realized that cakes would make storage so much easier and more practical so I tried again. Still no. So I googled to see what I was doing wrong and discovered that my problem was cheap tool. They pretty much all looked the same to me so I just bought the cheapest one. Turns out, there is a big diff. So I ordered the one that won all the praises. I got it on Amazon with free returns because I was not convinced.

I set it up and grabbed some yarn and was totally convinced in under a minute. What a difference! So... today, probably, there will be massive yarn winding! The cats will be thrilled, I'm sure.

And speaking of cats, they went right back to their pre-surgery night time routine. Biggie sat on the bed while I listened to my book for a while and The Smalls sat in the doorway watching. Then, when the lights went out, they both disappeared. I woke up at 11 and they were n where to be found. I woke up again about 2 and they were asleep next to me. That's where they were when I left for the pool.

I have sewing to do today. Wonder if they will ignore it like earlier in the week or be all over it like before. Even though they are no longer tiny, I have to constantly remind myself that they are still only 8 months old so still kittens who are still forming their forever habits and personalities.

Next up, health wise is another leukemia blood test in a couple of weeks.

I might walk over to Uwajimaya to get lunch today. Maybe.

But, right now, I'm going finish my coffee, then get dressed and start my day.

This was before they slipped into their morning nap comas.

My cats always enjoy a good yarn winding.

Their little faces are the cutest. They really look a lot like my Sid.

They look so innocent!

I have my yarn winder (I got the cheap version, yours is very fancy) attached towards the end of a board about a foot long. I slide the other end of the board under my thigh to hold it still as I wind. It works good and frees me up from sitting at a table.
