Some days are just nothing days

I have pretty much just pissed away this whole day and I'm perfectly fine with that. I spent some quality time with the Harmony hub and remote and then packed up all the hardware and added it to the Goodwill bag. I'm done with that crap.

My new toothbrush arrived. It is a toothbrush/waterpik combo and a little freaky. I love the small bathroom footprint but the toothbrush that squirts water is a little tricky to get used to. But my teeth are very clean after numerous brushes today.

I did a million things online - set up reminders and checked on payments and all kinds of stuff from Long Term Care insurance to my website hosting bill. I put on new nail wraps. I really haven't gotten off my butt. On the one hand, shame on me. On the other hand, hey, I swam 1,500 yards this morning so I could sit on my ass all day if I want.

I think I'm going to make a very large massively stuffed baked potato for dinner.

The cats had made the decision to buy a pleather chair and footstool kind of a stupid one. They have made the footstool into a pincushion with their claws. Sigh. At least making a cover for it won't be too fiddly. A pillow on the seat of the chair has, so far, kept it form a thousand pokes.

We very nearly had some weather today. At one point, this is what it looked like out mywindows.



But, then it cleared up to just regular clouds.

The cats are napping now but I've come to learn that really they are just recharging for the next onslaught of mayhem.

This is from earlier when I did not dish out food at a pace that suited them.

A few months ago I switched to an electric toothbrush. It took some getting used to because I'd never had one before but my teeth feel cleaner and my dental hygienist told me they were better.

The Smalls is the one in front giving me massive stink eye. Biggie is serving as backup. It does look like The Smalls has 4 eyes. weird!

I switched to an electric toothbrush at my dentist's suggestion. (He then died of a heart attack, but I'm pretty sure that's unrelated.) But I haven't thought about a WaterPik in ages! I'm suddenly remembering a family model in the '70s that had four of them with color-coded wand tips connected by hose to a blue base. I wonder why we don't all use those.

I've used one kind of electric toothbrush or another for years because I'm lazy. BUT I only started using a water pick 2 years ago - I got it in a Black Friday sale, as a matter of fact.

After 2 weeks of using it every day, the plaque started coming off my teeth in sheets (well, that may be a bit of an exaggeration) and it has not come back. Now I would not give it up for anything. My objection is the counter top real estate and too many things to plug in.

Having the waterpik in the toothbrush is a genius idea.

My bathroom is the only room I've renovated, and I had the fabulous idea of having a double plug put inside the wall-hung bathroom cabinet so the electric toothbrush fits in there and charges without cluttering up the vanity. I love it.

Sadly yes to both pleather and leather being cat magnets. I was looking at fabric samples in a furniture shop as I was having some sofas recovered, and overheard a customer who had leather sofas telling the salespeople that her cats had ripped them to shreds. Duly noted! I recover my sofas in velvet as it shows claw marks the least but even so I have to plaster them with double sided sellotape. Little hellions.

So smart about the bathroom planning. There are never enough outlets where you need them, that's for sure.

I was thinking yesterday how very glad I am that I went cheap on the furniture.
