The calm before the circus du jour
Mar. 30th, 2006 07:19 amToday is the electrician and the outside ceiling fixing guys and the inside drywall guys and really that's it. Oh and, hopefully, the table delivery guy.
Ok, before I got to the end of that sentence the electrician showed up. Very nice guy. In the middle of the night I woke up and remembered something Sheri told me about how he planned to switch up the new light. And I realized that the plan had a fatal flaw. The switch they want to hook it up to would mean that every time I used the light, the major spotlight would have to be on, too. Not at all what I want. He just got here and I told him the problem. Poor guy - really fucks up his installation but as long as I'm doing it, I want to do it right. And he's being quite the trooper about it.
Yesterday afternoon when no one had come to pick up the Westin Hotel's hutch that was in the hallway, I called the delivery company who said they would get right on it. That was at 3. At 4, I called the number on the receipt that the guy (the one who said he'd be back in 20 minutes) left and finally got someone who at least sounded like she understood. At 4:30 Twenty Minute Guy showed up and took away the hutch. No clue where my table is.
Now I need to get to work. My work work is kind of backed up from The Huge Hardware Failure but everything is in place now and I need to get caught up. Plus I picked up a new client - Desktop Search (I'm not wild about the search thing but their implementation of tabs in the browser is, so far, my favorite - simple and easy and yeah I know everyone else loves someone else's but this is my favorite.) - I'll be adding to and maintaining this section of Microsoft.Com starting next week.
