I had such a fun breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] seattlejo. The place was cozy, the food was good but the company was fabulous. It was just neat to catch up and talk about stuff. We lead very different lives. Our venn is a sliver and yet it is always so energizing and fun to visit with her - maybe because of that sliver.

I decided to pop into Grocery Outlet and pick up some tortillas on the way home. But when I got to the door of the store, I was it with devastating news. My Grocery Outlet is closing!!!! I remember the day they opened. They replaced a liquor store that was nice enough but I eat way more than I drink. I celebrated then and many times in many visits since. And now they are leaving me in the dust. The next closest one is maybe 15 miles away. The one that is closing is less than a mile.

This is far more critical for Grocery Outlet because they carry stuff that end runs or has label changes or was a test. So the Grocery Outlet drill is you buy something. Get home and find out you love it. You have to go back immediately for more because they probably won't ever have it again and might run out. Easy peasy at a mile, PIA at 15 miles. Sigh. I'm so bummed. Crap Crap Crap.

Plus, while the Japanese grocery is closer, it's expensive for every day shopping and the inventory is different than what I need for regular and the next closest suitable grocery is a good 10 minutes away. Crap Crap Crap.

The cats had recreation time on my bed and body last night from about 3 am until about 6:30.

I think The Smalls might be ailing a little. Not enough to prevent shenanigans, however. I'm keeping an eye on him.

This is the two of them this morning at 7. Exhausted from their night shift.

Too bad about the Grocery Outlet. I remember you writing about its opening, and about occasional great finds there. It sounds like a fun adventure to check out.

That's terrible about your Grocery Outlet closing. I don't know what I'd do without the one in my neighborhood. There'd be no place to get my breakfast donuts at a reasonable price.

the Smart and Final nearest to where I live closed which I find totally frustrating because they had better deals on groceries than practically anyplace else. The only other one in my city is in a neighborhood nowhere near mine and I don't have a car.
