Washington State's governor just shut down vars and restaurants. Take out and delivery still allowed but how many places will stay open enough to do that?

Entertainment and recreational facilities will be shuttered as well as any gathering of more than 50.

Next up - quarantine of old people. If that happens, will I break the quarantine to swim? I dunno. Probably.

My friends from New Zealand, today canceled their June/July trip.

This is turning out to be not that much fun.

Same in Ohio as of 9pm local time, but our governor really pushed take out, drive through & delivery to keep restaurants in business.

My MIL heard about the elder quarantine. I told her we'd hide her in the root cellar.

This is turning out to be not that much fun.
Yeah.

I hope these extreme measures reduce the amount of time we have to deal with them.

Thank goodness state governors are stepping up to the plate and making hard decisions.

Take care.

Apparently everyone over 65 in California is supposed to not leave their houses.

Here in the UK the population seems to have gone into panic mode regardless of the fact that everything is still open. There's not a toilet roll to be found in the supermarkets by all accounts.

Madness.

Well, they are advising those of us 60 and older (that's me) that we need to keep our butts at home. Ah, what fun... ugh. I will abide because my health isn't all that great what with asthma and heart valve problems but I hope that they get this under control soon. This place is small enough as is without being confined for weeks/months on end.

Stay safe.

I think delivery will boom with everyone stuck at home.

Over here some of the fancier restaurants that formerly never stooped to doing delivery started offering delivery during the lockdown. On the other hand, many of the smaller restaurants were shut down altogether, so naturally i didn't get any delivery.

I think if you're willing to pay a bit more, and if the government allows delivery drivers out on the streets, you'll be fine for good eats, although you might need to go down to the lobby or curb to pick up.

Yeah, Ohio did the same thing, and the governor is relaxing rules and requirements for unemployment, so I think places will close so that they can allow their staff to collect unemployment. Offering carryout is great, but your waitstaff doesn't really have anything to do in that case. I also think people will be eating out less in general out of fear.

I heard they're going to quarantine people over 70 in the UK for up to four months.

Well, meh. The fun starts. Went in to work this AM at 5.30. Only to be greeted by an email that all associates must immediately work from home. One of our IT peeps was in close contact with a person confirmed to have the virus. Left my boss a message and said bye. The not so good thing is I was working closely with five of our IT people on Friday. oh joy.
I get to stay in for the next two weeks. As does my hubby now.

Stay safe Susan. Sit on your butt and knit away. I have to work since i can access my work from a laptop. Otherwise I’d be diamond painting.

Yeah. We had vaguely planned to go out to dinner now and again in the coming weeks, especially to places that we've been meaning to try and haven't gotten around to, or that are always so busy that you need to reserve weeks in advance. This would be both to have something to do other than sit at home and also to support the restaurants, and at least some people seemed to think that going to restaurants was relatively safe. But our governor has also restricted them to takeout and delivery, and the kinds of restaurants and meals we were thinking of aren't really suitable for those options.
