I had another nosebleed tonight. I've now had about 4 in the past couple of weeks. No idea why. I suspect that the first one was a fluke and these are just aftershocks because the first one didn't heel all the way. I guess I'm going to have to start taking allergy pills for a while to keep my nose from running so I don't blow it so much. Bother.

Biggie spent the day - and is still at it - on patrol outside. He loves it when bugs visit or a breeze or nearly anything. When he's not chasing one of them he just sits there and looks inside.

He comes in briefly, checks everything and then goes back to his post.

This morning I found a not yet rubbery stalk of celery so I made tuna salad for lunch. It was very meh. I also made a tater tot casserole.

I tossed in some mushrooms - not enough to do anything with so they were just hanging in the fridge. I tossed in some pearl onions from the freezer. I cut up some ham steaks into cubes and tossed them in. Then I beat 3 eggs together with some heavy cream and some sour cream and added dried parsley, some powdered garlic salt, pepper... I layered in some grated cheese and then topped it off with the tater tots and poured the eggs over the top. Another layer of cheese and then I let it sit in the fridge all day.

Tonight I baked it for about 45 minutes. I found a can of pear halves in the fridge. The casserole with a side of pears was shockingly delicious. AND I have three more casserole servings and at least one more of the pears. I love using all this random stuff up!

Ok, so I feel sure that you probably already know this, so I'm sorry if I am being annoying, but if you happen to have a stalk that IS rubbery, you can put it in a dish with cold water and refrigerate overnight and it will be crispy again. It really is magical.

Hi Biggie! I'm glad to see you're doing your job.

The dish sounds wonderful.

Oh that does sound good.

Glad that Biggie is taking his job as overseer of the block seriously. : )

The pollen has been super nasty to me this week. I wake up every morning sneezing until my allergy pill kicks in.

I blame all the cherry and other fruit tree blossoms. They are in full bloom everywhere.
