The robot vacuum that Amazon promised to deliver tomorrow is on its way today! The tracking page says it's 4 stops away. Yahooo!!

For the past couple of weeks when I order something from Amazon they have brought it a day to two days early. I love it but I will be glad when we get back to promised=real.

And I figured out another viable grocery situation. QFC is offering pick up at some of their stores including one about 10 minutes from here. So I could order on their website which has an excellent inventory and then go to pick it up. I could, actually, have made an order up this afternoon and picked it up this evening. Nice to have a safe option that is more current than next week or never.

Also it means I can feel more free to eat up what I have. I've been holding back on eating or using eggs for fear it would be a long time before I get more. I feel, now, like eggs are more possible.

It's quite warm out today - nearly 70 degrees - and that brings out those giant flies. Not a lot of them but some. And Biggie is in heaven. He's chasing them all over the terrace and has been all afternoon. He brought one inside - a not yet dead one - and chased it all over the living room until it finally escaped. He's so funny. And he will be sleeping good tonight.

Hah. One time my cat got so focused on chasing a fly that she ran right up me and jumped off my head while I was sitting on the couch. Cats are nuts... and that's why we love them.

I found a drunk acting fly in here today. That time of year, I guess.

Hi Susan, Things are a bit different here in Canada. I have a 6 week wait for a basic Amazon order (hair conditioner etc.) and a 2 1/2 week wait for Instacart delivery. Fortunately quite a few of the smaller businesses are offering curb side pickup. I love supporting local small business.

Even going into the stores I've been worried about not being able to find certain foods; eggs being one of them. So much so that even if we have a full carton at home, I'll buy a new carton if they're in stock. With 5 people in our house we go through eggs really quick.

Maybe being "close" to them means you're getting better to real delivery times. I just ordered an equipment case (ordered on 4/16) and the expected delivery is 5/8. Not quite a month.

Glad that Biggie is getting along well. And you too!!

Woo hoo! You're going to love your new vacuum robot – I purchased one two years ago and love mine to bits.

Congrats on the new food solution. I'm lucky to have several grocery stores within walking distance, but need to take care to go at odd times to avoid other humans (basically, early in the morning or shortly before closing). And not so many food shortages at the moment here, thank God.

Many years ago I had a cat, and I also had a high-intensity bedside lamp that cast really crisp shadows; one evening the cat was going a little crazy trying to catch the shadow of a mosquito on the wall.
