Missing The Smalls

Biggie has taken a page from The Smalls handbook. Every once in a while - about once every other day or so, he'll hop up on the counter and sit by where the food bowl is or would be if it was out and give me the Feed Me eye. The Smalls did it every day several times a day. When Biggie does it, it just touches my heart a little.

I got the cat bed on the couch so they would have a place big enough for the two of them. I got it just before The Smalls died. So I'm trading it in for a smaller one. Biggie loves it so I'm getting the exact same kind just smaller.

Now that I'm no longer obsessing about eggs... hard boiled a few and made a great egg salad... I'm now obsessing over TV packages.

When we get baseball back, I think I'm probably going to make some changes. So I'm looking at various options and thinking them all through. I've had TiVo's of one model or another since the year 2,000. I'm thinking it might be time to say goodbye. Maybe.

Chicken for dinner - baked. With salad. I'm starving now but it's still a little early.

As Opakele says, I miss the Smalls too - he leaves a big hole which will take a little while to fill up.

Just curious...how do you eat your egg salad? On bread? Toasted? Crackers?

I like egg salad but can't enjoy it plain on bread because I don't like 100% soft sandwiches and I need some crunch, such as from lettuce.

What is your recipe? I would make it with mayo and sweet relish, plus salt and pepper...if I ever really made it! Maybe I'd add celery if I had it, for crunch. I don't know.

I have a couple dozen eggs to use up so maybe I'll make an egg salad too. Or deviled eggs, which my son and I both love.

Yesterday, I had a little bit of celery left so I cut that up and added it in. then mayo and a touch of mustard. A little salt and pepper. That's all. I usually make a sandwich using toast. but i don't mind the soft bread sandwich either.

As frustrating as the new TiVo keeps being, especially with the new brief ads they run before they show the show you've picked, I haven't found anything better!

Yep. You are 100% correct. It's those damn ads that I swore would not annoy me and they really do so that annoys me, too. And, no viable other option.

But, even more concerning to me is why/how in the heck you fell off my friends list and how did I not know??? Fixed now but geesh.

It's those blasted ads when you first click onto a recorded show. I thought everyone was making way too much of them but now I'm one. I tried to not pay attention but it didn't work.They are driving me mad.

Also if I switched to YouTube.TV, I could deep six the Tivos and the cable cards and have twice as many channels for half as much.

BUT... I think TiVo's already won the battle. As mhaithaca points out in his comment, there just isn't anything better. And YouTube.TV has a much bigger set of annoyances.

Yeah, it's those preroll ads that annoy me. But it's not that they're doing it -- it's that they're setting the music volume way too high! I complained to them early on about the way-too-loud audio, and they fixed it for a bit, but too-loud is back. I think I'll complain again and tell them they can fix it, or stop it, or pay me to watch it.

yep. i think they are only on the roamio and bolt... my older one doesn't have them... wait. why don't i swap them? put the older one in the living room and the buggered one in the bedroom??? GREAT IDEA!! Thank you!

Huh. I'm pretty sure ours is either a Roamio or a Bolt, so I'm stumped. I guess I should be thankful for small favors.
