The artist at PayScale is making progress.

AND... we have another whole building setup as canvas! This is not THE official Mariners team store but one of several souvenir shops. It, like PayScale is on the back road that leads to the stadium.

The design is already chalked out faintly. The weather is supposed to be rain free today so probably more to see tomorrow.

I just read that Costco is going to start requiring that all shoppers wear face masks. For me this is great news. I could just be kidding myself but I feel safer with everyone masked up. So safe that I might just consider a Costco trip. I'm running low on steak and ribs, both of which are plentiful and best at Costco. It would be great to replenish. Maybe next week. Also I could top off the gas tank, for no good reason.

I did create a large grocery order at the QFC website yesterday. For pick up Saturday morning. I might kill it, but I might not. I am harboring no delusions that they will have everything on the list but I'm pretty sure they will have the produce and that's what I really want. I can make changes up until Friday midnight which is the only reason I went ahead and made up the order. Picking it up was so easy last time.

I have only the sleeves left to finish my new top. And then I have a couple of other small sewing projects in mind.

Nothing else on tap for today.

I would be happy if masks were expected here, which they aren't yet

I feel a lot safer now too that in all shops here people are required to wear masks. It is just a bit less of a risk to be in the same closed place.

I'm making greek pork tonight for dinner. I really want feta and cucumbers to go with it, but am debating if it's worth putting myself or an instacart driver at risk for it.
First world problems big time.

Have you tried to get lettuce since the lockdown? If so, have you had any trouble? I was unable to get lettuce last week..but maybe it was just the kind I ordered.

It'll be neat to see how the building art turns out. I'm always amazed at people who can do that.

I think Costco here is starting the mask rule on Monday, and it sounds like they're going back to pretty much their normal hours as well. I'm most excited about that, I like to go closer to when they close. Less people. I'm glad about the masks. I know a lot of people don't agree with wearing them, but I think it's a good idea.

You're not kidding yourself. If everyone masked up every time he or she went out in public, everyone would be protected, even though we're wearing homemade two- or three-layer fabric masks which aren't anywhere near what N-95's are. Fabric masks keep one's germs to oneself, pretty well, and if you're not sharing yours with me and I'm not sharing mine with you and everyone else in the room or the warehouse, well, that works.
Our director of Public Health, Dr. Amy Acton (here in Ohio) has made more than one reference to "Swiss cheese layers of protection:" no one action gives you one-hundred percent protection, but if everyone washes his or her hands frequently; if everyone wears a mask out in public; if everyone conscientiously and scrupulously maintains social physical distancing of at least 6 (six) feet in all directions as consistently as possible while out in public, and so on and so forth ---we'd be a lot safer than we are. She has reckoned that those "Swiss cheese layers" can afford an individual at least 80% protection when all of them are being employed.

It is always a good idea to have the tank topped off . Granted, we don't do this every time we use the car, but keeping the tank full (refilled? topped off?) so that at least you are never driving on less than a half-a-tank of fuel... Good on you!

Enjoy all the sewing things! : ^)

Most stores around here are asking people to wear the masks.

Pretty well all the stores around here are requiring them. Actually Cambridge (and some of the neighboring cities and towns -- Somerville for sure, don't know about others) has instituted a rule requiring the wearing of masks when out in public, even if just going for a walk, with fines up to $300. I have no idea how stringently this is being enforced.

Maybe not for long; I'm reading today about expected disruptions in the availability of meat, in light of some of the major processing plants being closed because so many of their workers are getting sick.
