I canceled Dinerly. And immediately felt a burden lifted. I don't have to cool tonight if I don't want to and, heck, I may want to by then.

I decided that this may well be the summer of fat dresses. I have 3 dresses that are comfortable, soft knits and huge. Nothing pulls, nothing tugs, and the air just circulates through them. No way would I wear them out in public. They are ok for going down to take the trash or get the mail but not so much otherwise.

But, where in the heck am I going anyway?? I did some looking on line to order up a couple more. I could make them but they use a lot of fabric and I don't want to deplete my stash. But I also don't want to spend the money they are asking in fat girl online stores. So this morning, I visited my fabric stash and found that I do have some options.

I started with some knit sheets I got at Goodwill. I got one dress sized and cut out. I may make a couple more just like it or use a different pattern. But, yep, this is going to be the summer of fat dresses.

Then I remembered I haven't watched this week's Sewing Bee episode yet. That perked me up considerably.

And the latest litter box I got Biggie has fixed the problem. I cleaned up all the flung litter and put the new box into service two days ago. Today, there is still no litter flung anywhere!

Now I think I'll watch the Bee. Then make a trip down to the dumpsters. Then maybe do a treadmill 15.

So, that puts you at a tie. Susan-1, Biggie-1. Good comeback.

I love soft knit dresses! I have some I ordered, some I made. I have some that are around the house/swimsuit cover ups, others I'll wear out in the world a smidge, there is a spectrum of niceness like everything else!

I'm a bit behind on the Bee but last night finally got to the cagoules:).

I've become a massive fan of summer dresses including at home, and I find the magic fabric for coolness is viscose. It can be slightly alarming as it's so light you can feel you're wearing nothing at all. You don't get the benefit of stretch like you do with knits, but with a floaty-type style it's just as comfortable and knits are a lot hotter.

Knits are theoretically hotter because there are more spaces between strands than with woven fabric allowing for air to act as an insulator (I just found out). I do find cotton pyjamas cooler than sleeping in a t-shirt.

I hate the prices they charge for often ugly clothing in the fat girl size range.
Using knit sheets from the Goodwill is an excellent idea for what we used to call summer "sun dresses". Heck, you almost don't need a pattern to make them!

What litter box did you get and where from? My two manage to fling litter across the room.

Definitely with you on the fat dresses bandwagon. It's dressed enough to defeat the depression that comes with never getting out of your PJs, but not dressed enough to be annoying.

You remind me of the scene from "Enchanted" where the princess is wearing a beautiful new dress and the shot widens to show us the cut up curtains she made it from. I seriously admire your tailoring skilz. My mother's grandfather was a tailor to the British Royal family, but neither mom nor I inherited any of that talent.
