Long long ago food trucks were popping up in LA. I thought it was a fab idea. I heard about a guy and his friend here who was trying to get one going. It was about 2005ish. I followed then on Twitter, I think and found out where the truck would be and went and got myself a wonderful cheeseburger. But then the city found out about them and they had no food truck rules so they had to make some and Josh and Seth had to jump through hoops but they'd always end up somewhere and make me my delicious cheeseburger (extra rare, please).
Then Josh opened a brick and mortar restaurant that I used to love. They pissed me off last year so not so much love now. And then he bought a bunch of other restaurants and then he got sued by employees and had to sell some of them to settle. He kept two, though. One is Quality Athletics - the one on the corner - and Seth is the chef who runs it.
This is where the pizza place popped up last week. Their instagram said they would be open Tues-Sun noon-9. So I went over at noon to get a pizza to go. The place was locked up tight. I came home and went to that instagram post and said that I had been there where the hell was the pizza????
I got a reply in 20 minutes "@seattle.susandennis ahh shit!! Susan. so sorry for that! we are still getting our ducks in a row! Can we make it up to you and buy you a pizza on us for that inconvenience? Let us know when you could make it back and we’d like to treat you. so sorry again." I said I'd love to pick up a pepperoni to go at 4:30. And whoever is staffing the account replied "@seattle.susandennis you got it! will be ready. ! thank you for understanding! (and we remember you from skillet days. 😉)."
Very flattering and hilarious. I have no idea, really who 'we' is. I've never actually formally met either Josh or Seth. And only know their names from reading about food in Seattle.
Regardless, I'll take a free pizza. And, I know it will be a delicious pizza.
