Is it the older or the fatter or the more sedentary...or, yeah, I know. The combo. But stuff just gets harder to do. My back says 'sit down and let me rest!!' about 5 minutes into any project.

But, I told my back today to just shut the fuck up until I finished.

I did not get a true 'before' but here's after I hauled most of the shit out.

Here's the shit I hauled out.

Here's what it looks like now.

Plus, those plastic drawers in there? They all got emptied and sorted... Stuff to glue with, stuff to keep pages together, stuff to listen with, stuff needed to mail shit... etc. And on the top shelf is one of those utensil separators for the kitchen. It has ball point pens, pencils, fountain pens, little short pens, highlighters and one slot for Other Things To Write With.

I'm enormously satisfied.

The rest of yesterday's poke was perfect for lunch. Now I think I'll take the rest of the day off.

Glad to still have some input. If only that worked here.

Organizing makes me so happy. Seeing other people organize also makes me happy.

What a delightfully tidy cupboard! Seeing other people organise is much more fun than doing it yourself as it cuts out all the tiring sweaty part and just gets to the good stuff.

I feel ya. I have arthritis in my back, and I'm good for about 15-20 minutes of standing and putzing at a time. Then I have to sit. I had Plans for today, and grocery shopping took all the cartilage I have, and there wasn't any more for anything else. Good on you for pushing through.

Hi Susan.

Kudos on the organized cabinet! Great work. I would love to have your motivation for that sort of thing. I hate organizing more than I hate clutter...and it shows!

I can't remember whether I asked this before or even whether you wrote something about this, but speaking of stuff to glue with...why did you stop making the tiny rooms?

Congrats on the organizing!
Personally I hate it when things get, well, disorganized and around here it's like trying to beat back the sea with a broom. *shakes head*
Your entry's most enheartening.

I'm loving the kitchen utensils separator as a writing implements organizer and with your kind permission I'm going to apply that to my own generous assortment of pens and pencils (and sharpeners), and maybe also to some of the sewing stuff unless there's a better way of keeping track of seam rippers (you read that right: plural) and those plastic boxes of pins and all the other stuff I'm getting much to sleepy to bring to the front of my mind right now.

Thanks so much for posting this . :^)

Well done. Did you find anything you had totally forgotten about and are now inspired by? That usually happens to me halfway through the job and the rest of the tidying is forgotten. :)

I haven't been getting fatter recently, but I'm definitely getting older, and I notice it. My brother and I were commiserating on the phone the other day about how little yard work it takes before the body says "OK, that's enough for now".
