It's totally [livejournal.com profile] howeird's fault

Poor [livejournal.com profile] howeird has been trying to find comfortable underwear now for several weeks. In vein. It's a tough project for sure.

It took me 70 years. But last year I found the perfect stuff. How can you not try underpants labeled buttery soft??? And they are, indeed. I bought 6 more pair immediately. I wear them all day and sleep in them at night. They are the most perfect thing ever.

But [livejournal.com profile] howeird's underwear trials and tribulations got me worried. What if they disappeared. What if mine wore out and I could not get more??? Yes, they would be dirt simple to make but where in the heck am I going to find this buttery soft fabric?

So, I ordered 12 more pair.

[livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert, when I die and you come to clean this joint out and you find a massive load of underwear with the tags still on them, now you know who's fault it is. If you want to go after him, he's living in Las Vegas now - he's the one with his panties in a bunch.

And other things that make my life lovely. My spam slicer.

Spam is very easy to slice and very difficult to slice evenly. Except I hate this amazing Spam slicer. I had Spam for lunch.

Then I made what is basically a Frito pie with has browns instead of Fritos. It's either going to be delicious or OMG NO!! I'm going to have it with chilled canned pears that are wearing a dollop of mayo and a little grated cheddar cheese.

The dishes are done and the kitchen is clean.

All the laundry is done and all but the soft dresses put away. Biggie needs to finish Biggie-ing them.

And, I cut my hair. Trimmed the back actually. It's been looking pretty good lately. I think not swimming every day is helping. At least I'm not frantic to have hair dressers open.

It's raining lightly outside, but not, thankfully, inside.

Now it's time for a little TV, I think.

A Spam slicer is a thing? I have only ever seen something like that for hard-boiled eggs.

Buttery soft undies, now that sounds like you’d be sitting on a cloud. I wonder if they have them in Canada. I think I might look on Amazon. I have never had Spam, what does it taste like.? Biggie looks quite comfy and not really wanting to move at all. 🙃

I loved Spam slices sauteed with brown sugar as a kid. Since my folks are here at the house this week I found "Spam" on the grocery list. I will have to have a taste! Maybe this slicer would be a good birthday gift for my mother.

I really miss spam, it's pretty much the only thing made of meat that i crave from time to time.

I also really miss my spam sunglasses which i got at the spam museum in Minnesota. I just found them online and they're $6. Sadly they don't ship outside America. Somehow, they were the best sunglasses i ever had.

Speaking of best things that don't ship outside America. I neglected to buy enough of the Old Navy Perfect Tank back when it was still ribbed and fit me perfectly. I asked a friend to buy me a bunch and send them to me in Europe, and the shipping cost more than the clothes. Now they have discontinued whatever the style was that fit me so well and i will always not regret getting more. I'm not sure i'd describe them as buttery soft, but they were/are just perfectly flattering. I'm glad you found the perfect underpant.

I've been making my own underwear for about 20-ish years. The pairs I'm using now are about ten years old and almost worn out, but before I left Australia I made a whole lot more (maybe 20 pairs?) from some free fabric I was given which will possibly last me for the rest of my life if the fabric turns out to be as good quality as the current ones. I wouldn't quite describe them as buttery soft but they're pretty comfortable.

Chilled canned pears with mayo and cheese is as foreign to me as any dish found in Timbuktu. Therefore, I must try it.

Is it a Southern U.S. thing?
