ljtourist called this afternoon to say hi and catch up but then said he was planning to go to Trader Joe's and would love to get what ever I wanted and drop it off!!! How cool is that?! Plus...

Before he called, I was trying to figure out a database problem. When we hung up, the light bulb went off and it worked!

It dawned on me that it would be cool to add my wishlist from Audible and my wishlist from the library to TheLibraryThing...

It was fairly easy to scrape it all into a spreadsheet but then I learned that The LibraryThing needed ISBN numbers for bulk import. Ugh. I was not wild about manually adding 100 books.

I poked and Googled and tested and swore and tried a few things and then, after the phone all break, I figured out a way to trick it. And, it worked!! They all slid in and now I have a collection called Want to Read and they are all tagged 'library' or 'audible'.

Ok, I think I'm done now. Whew.

Glad to hear you worked out your literary issues. I really need to do something to sort out my reading material as well. Between physical and kindle books, I probably have thousands. And while I only buy the books I REALLY want to read, I found it takes less time for my flying fingers to buy books (many of which are actually free) and way more time to read them" 😳
There have been times when I purchase a kindle book from Amazon and it tells me I already bought this book......5 years ago.
And I sit here thinking “how have I not already read this title. I bought it 5 freaking years ago!”
There’s got to be a better way of knowing what the heck I have. I just thank heavens Amazon tells me about previous purchases. Although I have noticed that I have some dups of Doctorow titles in different editions. Go figure.

Way before Amazon was born, I would shop bookstores and come home with books I already had on my shelves. More than a few times. That's when I started tracking. Today, with ebooks and audiobooks, I'd be buying and rebuying without even knowing. for sure.
