Another day, another laptop

I found out which Chromebook I need - it's a Lenovo C630 - but they don't make it/sell it anymore. And used/refurbs are not plentiful. But I found one on Blinq. I've heard about Blinq before - good things - but never used them. They tout an easy return situation which I hope I won't have to use but make sure there is one before hitting 'buy'.

So... we'll see. Maybe even next week!

And as long as I'm dishing out cash, I loaded up the car for Goodwill tomorrow. I had to drive it out of the garage, load up and drive it back and during those shenanigans, I noticed the flashing wrench. Flashing wrench is Smart Car lingo for It's time for your annual blood letting at Mercedes. It's actually past time. I think I went in March last year. But, whatever. It's not like I have places to go or people to see. So Tuesday. 8.

I did send back all the rest of the Zappos shoes today. UPS delivered one more pair today but I knew I wasn't going to keep them. I unboxed and tried them on and printed out the return label and reboxed and made it down to the street in time to hand it right back to the UPS guy. That really is a personal best for me in Returns R Us.

Today the Governor decreed that face masks will be mandatory starting Friday. Good on him.

Baseball is going to start up again with 'spring' training on July 1. And games planned for the end of July. I'm looking for the betting pool. How many positive COVID tests will it take to shut them down again? And How many days until that happens. My money says they will be done by July 15. Sigh. I, for sure, am not calling the cable company and telling them to add the baseball channel back just yet.

When new "rules" within this pandemic get created, a logical part of my mind says, as in this case, "Friday, so people have time to hunt up masks to keep those around them safe," but another part of my mind is shouting, "They're giving them advance warning so fools can wreak upon the rest of us that much more foolishness before they're forced to stop! Not fair!"

But for all the madness in my brain, I agree: Good on your Governor!

It sounds like spring training is a gong show. The Jays have already shut down their camp at Dunedin.

And will be restarting it. The bigger problem is where they will play their home games as it may be impossible to play in Toronto due to the 14-day quarantine rules in place for people entering Canada. They may have to play their home games in Dunedin.

Which would be sadder if there were actually any Canadian players. And not much love for the Jays these days judging by game attendance. At the moment, two people associated with the team (one player one a coach or trainer) are being sued over non-payment of rent they refuse to pay because they can’t get to Toronto. I’m sure many people are in similar positions. My son paid rent for several months in Toronto while isolating at his girlfriend’s family’s place, and had to give two months notice/pay a penalty to end the lease.

How long does Zappos take to deliver shoes?! I seriously just almost googled that. I got a surprise for my husband & went w Zappos cuz of the comments on fast shipping, and cuz he likes Zappos, but it’s been two days & I haven’t even gotten a shipping notice D,,,:

Well it’s too late my time right now & I’m so tired that Update: I ended up finding out on Google that indeed they take one to two business days to deliver but then I realized that that was actually for “Zippo” LOL.

Does mandatory masks mean you're no longer Phase Two-ing, or is it just Phase Two but with precautions? Either way, masks for the win.

I think it's Phase Two + There's been no talk of Phase Three for this county yet. And the mask order is all counties - statewide. Even those who have gotten to Phase Three.
